If one realizes the nature of mind, one will be naturally liberated from all evil views. By the power of supreme great bliss, abiding in it is the supreme accomplishment. Let the elephant of mind roam freely. Ask that very self about the truth. Thus it is said. The noble Nagarjuna says in the Commentary on the Mind of Enlightenment: The mind that is free from objects, abides in the nature of space. This is said to be meditating on space, emptiness is that. Thus it is said. The noble Nagarjuna says in the Praise of the Vajra of Mind: Whoever, with the nature of mind, clearly illuminates the net of mind-arising, dispels the ignorance of mind, I prostrate to that self-mind. Thus it is said. Precious mind is liberation, the gods are not to be accomplished. Seeing the mind is the path to enlightenment. Thus it is said. For the sake of meditating on the vajra of mind itself, that is called supreme enlightenment. Thus it is said. Therefore, the mind should always be guarded, the courageous one with a happy mind will become a Buddha. Thus it is said. In the Dharma Wheel of the Bodiless Dakini it is said: Self-liberation is holding the Great Seal, self-mind non-duality is the Great Seal, liberation is the self-liberation of mind itself, the seal is emptiness wisdom, the seal is free from the seal of samsara, great is the union of two. Thus it is said. In Tilopa's Mahamudra Ganga it is said: For example, looking at the center of the sky, seeing ceases. Likewise, if one looks at the mind with the mind, the collection of thoughts will cease, and one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Thus it is said. Thus, the nature of mind is primordially like the sky, all dharmas are not without gathering there. Thus it is said. The mind is like the center of the sky, beyond the realm of thought. In that nature, without letting go or holding on, relax and abide. If the mind has no attachment, it is the Great Seal. Meditating and merging with it, one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Thus it is said. Shavaripa's Doha says: Kyeho! Do not be distracted, look at your own mind with your own mind. If your own mind is realized by yourself, the distracted mind will also appear as the Great Seal. Thus it is said. The teacher Dharika says: The nature of the two is inseparable, if one knows the nature of mind, one should abandon all actions of mind and abide in the taste of equality. Thus it is said. Birwapa says: That which is born together from the nature of the Great Seal.

Do not abide in the state of searching and discriminating thoughts, but abide in the state of no-self! It will not become annihilation, experience it yourself through your own awareness! It will not become realization, because it is not manifest, it is the union of two! Thus it is said. Kandharipa said: All Buddhas of the three times are of the same essence, realizing this is the nature of one's own mind. If you wish to realize it, then abide as it is without modification! If you become accustomed to it, yoga will manifest. Thus it is said. Naropa's view in brief: These phenomena of appearance and existence do not exist apart from one's own self-aware mind. Thus and so on. Maitripa's condensed words on Mahamudra: Mahamudra should be spoken of, all phenomena are one's own mind. Seeing external objects as real is a mistaken mind, like a dream, its essence is empty. The mind is merely the movement of memory and awareness, its nature is non-existent, like searching for wind. Its essence is emptiness like the sky, all phenomena are equal to the sky, therefore it is called Mahamudra. One's own essence cannot be pointed out, therefore the nature of the mind itself is the nature of Mahamudra, and there is no modification or alteration to it. Whoever sees this as it is, all appearances and existences are Mahamudra. Thus it is said. Padampa said: Whatever arises in the mind is conceptual thought, if one looks within, the five poisons transform into the five wisdoms, this is the Buddha's intention. Thus it is said. In the Great Treatise on View and Practice by Jowo Je: All phenomena are one's own mind. Pages 201 to 300.
