莲花百千数，月亮百千睡莲类。如飞蛾之于莲花，莲花之名亦加于其上。如是，大悲周遍一切有情。莲花虽以足行，却不行走，如观世音大悲尊虽住世间，却不入六道众生之数，亦不迷乱。莲花之名，如漂浮于水上，大悲虽住轮回，却不为轮回之过所染。谁持大悲，不溺轮回之河。如莲花生于湖中，一切大悲佛陀皆生于大悲之海。最初于极乐世界，亦生于乳海之中。此乃词语之解释，意义之解释如下：《根本续莲花网》云：“莲花心勇士，莲花大生者。”又云：“莲花持者，莲花勇。莲花怙主，我顶礼您。莲花所生圣者，莲花显明作喜者。莲花金刚莲花身，我顶礼莲花眼。”又云：“莲花面容，我顶礼您。具法具义莲花胜。”又云：“莲花手印莲花手。”又云：“至尊胜王莲花吉祥。”如是宣说观世音菩萨一百零八名号。若摄略之，则有八名主尊。观世音菩萨之八名者：持莲花者，莲花所生者，莲花手，莲花吉祥，莲花主尊，莲花眼，世间自在，莲花自在，如是宣说八名。一切咒语皆是名，所谓“莲花（པདྨ，梵文：Padma，梵文罗马转写：padma，莲花）”，乃观世音菩萨名号之根本、真实也。莲花（པདྨ）上加字母“ཨེ”，则成“莲花（པདྨེ）”，表示关联之词“的”或“之”之义。若将“玛尼莲花（མ་ཎི་པདྨེ）”之音直译，则成“宝莲花”，然多依音译。譬如“玛哈嘎拉（མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ）”直译则成“大黑”，然不如此翻译，而依音译作“黑大”。如是，“玛尼莲花（མ་ཎི་པདྨེ）”亦依音译，将“玛尼（མ་ཎི）”译为“宝”，将“莲花（པདྨོ）”之竖笔译为关联之词，即“莲花之宝”。

The lotus is a hundred thousand, and the moon is a hundred thousand types of kumuda. Just as the sound of "lotus" applies to a lotus beetle, great compassion pervades all sentient beings with compassion. Although the lotus moves with its feet, it does not walk. Similarly, although the great compassionate Lord of the World resides in the world, he does not enter the number of the six realms of beings, nor is he confused. Just as the sound of "lotus" applies to floating on water, although great compassion abides in samsara, it is not stained by the faults of samsara. Whoever holds great compassion will not drown in the river of samsara. Just as the lotus is born from a lake, all the Buddhas of great compassion are born from the ocean of compassion. Initially, in Sukhavati, they were also born from a lake of milk. These are explanations of the words, and the explanations of the meaning are as follows: From the root tantra, the Lotus Net: "Lotus heart hero, lotus great birth." And: "Lotus holder and lotus brave. Lotus protector, I prostrate to you. Holy one born from the lotus, lotus illuminator, joy maker. Lotus vajra, lotus body. I prostrate to the lotus eye." And: "Lotus face, I prostrate to you. Possessing Dharma, possessing meaning, lotus victorious." And: "Lotus mudra, lotus hand." And: "Supreme king, lotus glory." Thus, one hundred and eight names of Avalokiteshvara are spoken. If summarized, there are eight principal names. From the eight names of Avalokiteshvara: Holding a lotus, born from a lotus, lotus hand, lotus glory, lotus principal, lotus eye, Lord of the World, lotus Lord, thus eight names are spoken. All mantras are names, the so-called "Padma (པདྨ，梵文：Padma，IAST: padma，Lotus)" is the root and reality of the name of Avalokiteshvara. When the letter "E" is added to Padma (པདྨ), it becomes "Padme (པདྨེ)", which expresses the meaning of the connecting word "of" or "'s". If the sound of "Mani Padme (མ་ཎི་པདྨེ)" is translated directly, it becomes "Jewel Lotus", but it is mostly transliterated. For example, if "Mahakala (མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ)" is translated directly, it becomes "Great Black", but it is not translated that way, but transliterated as "Black Great". Similarly, "Mani Padme (མ་ཎི་པདྨེ)" is also transliterated, translating "Mani (མ་ཎི)" as "Jewel", and translating the vertical stroke of "Padmo (པདྨོ)" as the connecting word, that is, "Jewel of the Lotus".

名为拉布，五部之中，西方莲花部的菩萨，如意满足众生愿望的如意宝珠增权之王。金刚顶续云：何谓吽字？疗治摧毁痛苦，斩断有之索，惊慑诛杀暴恶，吽当铭记于心。如是故，意义归纳为：五身五智莲花部的如意宝珠，断除有之所有痛苦。如是。其后长咒为：嗡 杜玛 嘎耶 纳玛 斯瓦哈。（藏文：ཨོཾ་དྷུ་མ་གྷ་ཡེ་ན་མསྭཱ་ཧཱ།），（梵文天城体：ॐ धुम घये नमः स्वाहा），（梵文罗马拟音：oṃ dhuma ghaye namaḥ svāhā），（汉语字面意思：嗡，杜玛，嘎耶，顶礼，梭哈）。此乃意集度化一切众生续中所说，莲花大雪海所。
English
It is called Rabu, among the five families, the Bodhisattva of the Western Lotus family, the wish-fulfilling jewel, the king of increasing power, who fulfills the wishes of all beings. The Vajrasekhara Tantra says: What is the letter Hūṃ? It heals and destroys suffering, cuts the noose of existence, terrifies and kills the violent. Hūṃ should be remembered above all. Therefore, the meaning is summarized as: The wish-fulfilling jewel of the five bodies and five wisdoms of the Lotus family cuts off all the suffering of existence. Thus it is. Then the long mantra is: Oṃ Dhuma Ghaye Namaḥ Svāhā. This is what the Lotus Great Snow Sea teaches in the Tantra of the Gathering of Intentions that Liberates All Beings.
