Wishing to perform the inner practice of Vajrayogini, first accomplish the outer practice. If starting the practice from the Monkey year, supplement the offerings. If the outer practice is done without a mandala, or if only the inner practice is done at another time, then the preparations should be done as explained in other texts. From the self-generation up to the merging with the wisdom being, meditate on the channels in the body as in the outer practice. Hand mudra offerings are not needed at this time. Transform the visualizations of the outer recitation, and then perform the front generation according to the text. Do not recite the vase generation. Since the mandala, vase, skull cup, and mirror in front are inseparable, meditate on them as the front generation. The main deity of the front generation stands in a dancing posture. At the point where it says, \"In this way,\" inside the body of the main deity, visualize the central channel (uma) from the crown of the head to the secret place, white on the outside and red on the inside, like a pillar erected in an empty room. To its right, the white roma, and to its left, the red kyangma, with their upper ends at the nostrils and their lower ends below the navel, becoming one with the central channel. Then, the channels circle the central channel like the ribs of an umbrella.\nThe thirty-two petals of the crown chakra are slightly downward-facing. The sixteen petals of the throat chakra are red, upward-facing, in the shape of the letter 'i'. The eight petals of the heart chakra are white, like the letter 'bai', slightly downward-facing. The sixty-four petals of the navel chakra are in the shape of the letter 'a', upward-facing. These are each their own color on the outside and empty on the inside.
