I take refuge in those who have gone to bliss. The garden of delight for the supreme minds, The grove that conquers the fears of the inferior, The supreme one who subdues the wealth of existence. I take refuge in the supreme Dharma, the supreme speech. Destroying the poison of the serpent of desire and so on, With pure wisdom and endowed with compassion, I take refuge in the assembly of ascetics and masters, And I prostrate to those who are free from existence. Following the cause, the master's realm is self-nature, By the power of the fruit, conquering the enemies, Planting the root of compassion and truly realizing, I generate the unequaled Bodhicitta. For the sake of fully ripening all sentient beings, Or for the sake of fully protecting them, Or for the sake of purifying my own mind, I abandon all these like grass and so on. Likewise, ethics, patience, diligence, and, Samadhi, wisdom, the unsurpassed, For the sake of the pure deeds of myself and others, I meditate on each and every moment. Those who have gone to bliss, skilled in mantras, The Dharma kings who are always spontaneously accomplished, For the sake of attaining this going, I abide in your noble state. Protectors, Buddhas, And all the Bodhisattvas, please consider me. My name is so-and-so, Until the essence of enlightenment. Just as the protectors of the three times, Are certain in enlightenment, The unsurpassed, supreme Bodhicitta, I generate and do it now.
