The Hayagriva Ritual: Shower of Awareness. The Hayagriva Ritual: Shower of Awareness. This is the text called "The Hayagriva Ritual: Shower of Awareness." Namo Vajrakrodha Hayagrivaya (藏文：ན་མོ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་ཏ་ཧྱ་གྲི་ཝཱ་ཡ།，梵文天城体：नमो वज्रक्रोध हयग्रीवाय，梵文罗马拟音：Namo vajrakrodha hayagrīvāya，汉语字面意思：Homage to Vajra Wrathful Hayagriva). I prostrate to the Bhagavan Hayagriva, the King of Power, and to the Bodhisattva Essence of the Sun of Awareness. Here, the meaning is gathered from the tantras and various sadhanas of Hayagriva, and from the teachings of the Protector Ber, which speak of the glorious Rabjam, and from seeing about twenty-five different kinds of Hayagriva mantras. In accordance with the many pith instructions and sadhana texts composed by King Trisong Detsen, this is an extensive arrangement of the Hayagriva deity ritual. All of these are done according to the pith instructions. Offer the pith instruction torma, the yidam general torma, to Hayagriva. Offer a large, precious, blazing one surrounded by eight small ones to the Hayagriva deity. Make a horse-shaped tsampa offering, and offer the horse-tethering rope that the horse is dragged with, along with the horsehair ransom offering, and then discard it outside. Make a linga out of clean tsampa, summon and invite the horse demon, then kill it and bury it in a slightly dug hole in the middle of the door or road. Do as many of these as possible. May all of these objects of protection, counteraction, and protection be under the refuge of the glorious and venerable lamas. I take refuge in the Buddhas, the Bhagavad Ones. I take refuge in the sacred Dharma. I take refuge in the noble Sangha. I take refuge in the noble Hayagriva King. I take refuge in the Bodhisattva Essence of the Sun, with a human body and a horse's head. I take refuge in the noble Wrathful Remati. I take refuge in the Bodhisattva Vaishravana. I take refuge in the glorious Protector Black One, the horse deity. I take refuge in all the horse deities, such as the King of Yakshas, the one who controls the three realms, Purna Bhadra, and the horse lord Kubera. May all sentient beings, led by these objects of protection and counteraction, be endowed with happiness and the causes of happiness. May they be separated from suffering and the causes of suffering. May they never be separated from the supreme happiness that is without suffering. May they abide in equanimity, free from both near and far, attachment and aversion, for a long time.
