Vidyadhara Padmasambhava, Father Mahabala Hayagriva, Mother Vajravarahi, and so forth, before the deities of the three roots of the Guru, Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ! I beseech, offer, and present; please accept! King of Power, Black Hayagriva, Hero who subdues enemies and obstacles, Protector of the Buddha's teachings, Enemy god of yogis, Lord of magical powers, Possessing the eye of wisdom, Lifeline of Vidyadharas, Commander of the eight classes, Executioner of enemies who break vows, Guide who subdues planets, nagas, and demon armies, Friend who subdues harmful spirits and oath-breakers, Gya Ghiwa Mahabala Black Hayagriva, Yaksha Mewal, Yaksha with iron braids, Great Garuda blazing, Black iron scorpion, Emanations and further emanations, before the deities of Mahabala Black Hayagriva, Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ! The ten powerful protectors of the directions, the four great kings, the eight classes of gods and demons of the command, the arrogant ones of the world, those who delight in flesh and blood, those who thrive on conflict, those who are fierce in killing, those who are wrathful and violent, the armies that are fierce and cruel, before them, Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ! I beseech, offer, and present; please accept! Furthermore, those who dwell around this land, region, and kingdom, and the ancestral lineage protectors who dwell in the eight directions, above and below, of this dwelling, the strict protectors of the teacher, the protectors of the secluded place, the protectors connected by karmic fate, the guiding gods, the protecting gods, the local god Zodor, the guardian deities of the secluded place, the ground deities, and those who have become the lineage of place protectors, Oṃ Ā Ttā Hūṃ! May prosperity flourish! Protect the treasury of the monastic college! Uphold the Sangha! Prolong the life of the yogis! Especially, may you prolong the life and increase the glory of myself and the patrons with their retinues! Increase retinues and possessions! Kill hateful enemies! Destroy harmful obstructors! Eliminate causes of obstacles! Repel curses and phurkas! Repel bad omens and bad dreams! Repel all kinds of diseases, demonic influences, and epidemics onto the enemy! Practice a hundred good deeds! Reverse a thousand misdeeds! Blow the sweet-sounding conch! Raise the banner of fame! Swiftly grant the supreme and common siddhis! Hūṃ Hūṃ! Supreme deity among the gods, the lord of Hayagrīva! At all times, I invoke you and accomplish you! Even for the sake of life, I will not abandon my yidam! Please look upon us with your wisdom and compassion! Wrathful king and retinue, by your splendor, having cleared away all the gatherings of obstacles and obstructors, and having actually shown your loving face, I pray that the fruits of accomplishment may be shown at this time! Hūṃ Hrīḥ! Black Hayagrīva and retinue, please consider! By the power of the virtue of having initiated this path of approach, accomplishment, offering, and activity, may the Buddha's teachings and the life of the holders of the teachings be prolonged! May the glory of the Three Jewels be fulfilled and the intentions of the lama be accomplished! May the yogis have long lives, and may the patrons be free from obstacles! May merit and glory increase, and may wishes be completely fulfilled! May myself and all others be established in the state of Buddhahood! Thus I entrust the desired purpose and activity! At the repeated and insistent request of the offering-maker and mantra-holder of Chapshi, who needed a prayer for the black Hayagrīva of the Nyang tradition, Ra Ga Asya compiled the meaning of the black Hayagrīva of Sangye Lingpa, etc., and wrote this immediately.
