Far away from the ocean of samsara, beings tormented by karma are truly pitiful! Please bless me to dry up the ocean of suffering. Beings tormented by the karma of ignorance, seeking happiness, instead engage in activities that cause suffering. These unskilled beings are truly pitiful! Please bless me to purify the obscurations of afflictions and karma. The faults of samsara are: In this prison bound by self-grasping and duality, like a wild animal trapped and re-entering, ignorant and deluded beings are truly pitiful! Please bless me to completely uproot samsara. This city of inescapable karma has six realms, one leading to another, like carrying buckets of water, beings endlessly wandering in samsara are truly pitiful! Please bless me to sever the birth gates of the six realms. Meditating on impermanence and death: The sufferings of birth, aging, sickness, and death, no matter how much we see, we are not afraid, our hearts are not strong. We waste our precious human life on distractions. Please bless me to remember impermanence and death. Because we do not understand that impermanence is unreliable, we still cling to and are attached to this samsara. In the pursuit of happiness, we spend our lives in suffering. Please bless me to turn away from attachment to samsara. The outer world is impermanent, destroyed by fire and water; the inner beings are impermanent, body and mind separate; spring, summer, autumn, and winter, seasons and times are impermanent. Please bless me to generate renunciation from the depths of my heart. Years and months, the upper and lower parts of seasons, days and nights, moments of time are impermanent. Think well, and death is approaching you. Please bless me to diligently practice. The difficulty of obtaining leisure and opportunity: This leisure and opportunity is very difficult to obtain. When the Lord of Death is approached by disease, beings without Dharma return empty-handed, truly pitiful! Please bless me to generate emptiness in my mindstream. Alas, alas! Compassionate Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, you possess the power of wisdom and compassion, please liberate us, the beings of the six realms, from the suffering of samsara right now! These are the recitations and practices of the common four preliminaries. Furthermore, since the only ones who can save us from the above sufferings are the Three Jewels, visualize in the space in front of you that all the objects of refuge are densely gathered like clouds, and that all beings, with yourself and your parents as the main ones, have a strong desire to be liberated from enemies, prisons, and abysses.

Peaceful, free from attachment, the ultimate Truth of Dharma, the irreversible path for the three vehicles, I prostrate and take refuge in the sacred Dharma. The assembly of practitioners with lineage teachings and instructions, The teachings and holders of the teachings, free from the assembly of afflictions, I prostrate and take refuge in the sacred Dharma. The support of the unerring path, the field of all supreme assemblies, The noble assembly far removed from the stains of afflictions, I prostrate and take refuge in the Sangha.
