A yogini named Auspicious Maiden was assigned to prepare the tsok offerings, but she was stingy with the offerings, accumulating and hoarding them, resulting in her rebirth as a dog-headed hungry ghost, suffering from hunger and thirst. It is said that recounting the history, benefits, and faults of this mandala can also bring great benefits. The teacher Vajrasattva once taught: If someone understands the meaning of this mandala and shows, tells, or proclaims it to a worthy vessel, he will become the king of Dharma, becoming no different from myself. In the past, the sage yogi Kalayana explained and elucidated the meaning of this mandala to many sages, enabling many sages to attain the state of vidyadhara. That teacher sage will become the lord of secrets. It is said that other secret mantra teachings cannot be proclaimed in public, but this teaching can be shown to everyone. The glorious Samantabhadra said: Whoever prostrates to the mandala deities of the peaceful and wrathful manifestations, all violations and faults will be purified, even the sins of the five heinous crimes will be purified, liberated from the hells, and led to the pure land of the vidyadharas. It is said that merely hearing the names of these mandala deities once will prevent one from falling into the great hells. Orgyen Rinpoche said: This is a great liberation through hearing, even if someone who has committed the five heinous crimes hears this through their ears, they will surely be liberated. Therefore, this should be recited in large gatherings, widely propagated, recited at the pillow of all the sick, and recited at the pillow of all the dead, and widely propagated. Meeting with this is very fortunate; it is difficult to meet with this unless one has accumulated merit and purified obscurations. Once one meets with this, one will surely be liberated as long as one does not give rise to wrong views. Therefore, we should cherish this very much, because this is the essence of all the teachings. It is said that this is a teaching that does not require practice; liberation is attained merely by seeing it.
