Granted hand seals. The hero offered bathing with gatherings and vase water to the Black King, the three pigs, and so on. At the age of forty-eight, in the midst of clear light, on the morning of the twenty-third, he resided in the peaceful realm of Dharma. Immediately after that, in a village on the upper road, two Dharma protectors, master and servant, manifestly brewed tea, scalding each other, and riding on horses, one of them said this: "The all-knowing lord Karmapa seems to have passed away. Look now! If he passes away, there will be border wars in Tibet." Having said that, he immediately vanished. When the remains were cremated, the fire ignited spontaneously.
