Eleventh, explaining the five inexpiable sins. Eleventh, explaining the five inexpiable sins. Eleventh, explaining the five inexpiable sins, that is, among the five inexpiable sins, the first three are killing, and the fifth is the act of killing, so four are the actions of the body, and the fourth is lying, so it is the action of speech. Others are not explained because they are easy to understand, but if we talk about the division of the Sangha, the Sangha is divided into two groups. (Tugje.) To say that there exists something that has an incompatible nature, does not possess it, and is established as a substance of conditioned Dharma, is the view of the Vaibhashika school. That is, it is neither afflicted nor predicted to be virtuous, so it is un-obscured and un-predicted. If we distinguish in this way, then the Sanghas of those two factions are fully possessed, but it is not an inexpiable sin. What is that karma? If we talk about the division of the Sangha, its cause is the unforgivable karma, that is, the lie that leads to the division of the Sangha. Such a lie is an inexpiable sin, and it is fully possessed by Devadatta and others who cause the division of the Sangha. The maturation of the inexpiable sin of the division of the Sangha will cause the divider to experience suffering in the Avici hell during that intermediate kalpa. So, what happens if the remaining inexpiable sins are committed? Other inexpiable sins generally certainly lead to rebirth in hell, but it is not certain that they will only be reborn in Avici hell. (If two or more inexpiable sins are committed, and one is only reborn once in hell, then there is no difference in the magnitude of the karma. If one is reborn more than once, then it is not an inexpiable sin and only experienced after birth.) The Vaibhashika school says that if two or three or more inexpiable sins are committed, according to the number of karmas, in that Avici hell, the body will become larger and younger by doubling, etc. The suffering will also increase by doubling, etc., thus escaping both faults. Those karmas, the former is the projecting cause, and the latter is the completing cause. The Sautrantika school and others believe that if many inexpiable sins are committed, one will be reborn in Avici hell again and again, but between the body that commits the karma and hell, there is no other inexpiable sin of rebirth.

Because there is no exclusion of this intention for the results that have already arisen and are destined to be experienced; in the words of realization called "Kyihud Sem," it says that the maturation of uninterrupted karma causes beings to repeatedly die and be reborn in hell, thereby experiencing the maturation of results; and in the commentary on the Compendium of Abhidharma, it also says that from the perspective of beginning, it is established that the results to be experienced in this life, etc., but this is not merely from the perspective of experiencing. Because the sutra says that it has already arisen and is destined to be experienced, this is said from the perspective of the very beginning, so it should not be considered a fault. So, who are the people who will split these sanghas? It is the bhikshus, and those who practice right view and possess discipline, who will split the sangha, and not laypeople, those who practice desire, and those who break their vows, because they are competing with the Buddha, because they are sharp-witted, and the sangha does not trust them, nor do they hold on to harsh words. Where to split? Outside the place where the Buddha resides, but not in the presence of the teacher, because the splendor of the Buddha is unbearable. What to split? Split the sangha of ordinary people (such as Kokalika, Ocean Giving, Khanda Drapa, Kata Mela Katishya, etc.), but not the noble ones, because they have direct experience of the Dharma, recognize the Buddha and gain faith. Some say that even ordinary people who have attained forbearance cannot split the sangha (because they are similar to those who have seen the truth). The limit of the split is when Devadatta tolerates and accepts the five precepts, such as not consuming milk, abandoning meat, not consuming salt, wearing unsewn clothes, and living in temples in the city, in order to be certain to attain liberation from a teacher other than the Buddha and from a path other than that taught by the Buddha, then that is the split of the sangha. How long does it last? This split, according to its nature, does not last longer than a day. What is said to be the split of the sangha? That is the split of the wheel of Dharma.
