It is not possible to cut off in that way. If asked why the earth element does not cut off, it is because sentient beings do not have a fourth fault besides wind, bile, and phlegm. Therefore, when wind is dominant, it is cut off by wind; when bile is dominant, it is cut off by fire; and when phlegm is dominant, it is cut off by water. Some say that it is because the destruction of the container world is in accordance with the Dharma. Those who do good and do not touch the vital points of others, and gods and others who die simultaneously, die without having vital points to cut off. As the teacher Gangpa said, it is possible that those who cannot be cut off also exist. (Although gods do not have vital points to cut off internally, when a god is about to die, unpleasant sounds come from their clothes and ornaments, the light of their body becomes smaller than before, drops of water from bathing stick to their body, and even those who are usually active become focused on one thought, and their eyes open and close intermittently. These are the five uncertain signs of approaching death. Clothes become stained, flower garlands wither, dust appears in both armpits, a foul odor emanates from the body, and the god becomes unhappy with his own seat. If these occur, it is certain that death is near. These are the five certain signs of approaching death. In the commentary of the teacher Gangpa, it is said: These certain signs of death do not necessarily all appear, but they do not completely disappear either. In short, the signs of death for gods are said to be five in total. These signs of death occur during the five days of the gods. Therefore, even if the physical suffering is unbearable, the mental suffering is greater for a god who has signs of death. In the Sutra on Mindfulness, it is said: When falling from the realm of the gods, whatever great suffering arises, even the sixteen hells cannot bear that difference. Therefore, after the signs of death appear, other gods place a branch of a flowering tree on his heart from afar and say: "O god, may you die and transmigrate from here, and may you be born in the world of humans, Jambudvipa, where you can practice well. And with the plow of faith, may you cultivate the field of merit." Saying these words is like a moth flying into a flame. Alas! Ho! Various kinds of chariot groves! Alas! Ho!

Falling like hailstones. Alas, the pitiful god of consciousness! Wailing and crying, they fall to the ground. Thus they wail and cry.) Third, regarding how beings transform after death, the sutra states that beings have three types of assemblies at birth, duration, and death: What are the three? They are the assembly determined to be true, the assembly determined to be false, and the undetermined assembly. Among them, the noble ones and those who commit the five heinous crimes are determined to be true and false respectively, because they are certain to be born in the heavens without evil destinies and attain liberation, and are certain to be reborn in hell immediately after death. The rest are undetermined. These have explained the world of sentient beings. Explanation of the World of Sentient Beings.
