Because they exist at the same time. It is said that the characteristics of things are their very nature. Just as the collection of earth contains water, fire, and wind, because it has the functions of gathering, ripening, and moving, it is like earth. Similarly, water and so on also have the function of supporting, so it can be proved that earth and so on also exist. The Sutra School and others believe that what appears is manifestly existent, and what does not appear exists in the form of seeds, but it is not necessarily manifestly existent, which will be explained in detail later. So, what are the characteristics of earth and so on? They are hardness and viscosity, wetness and moisture, warmth, and lightness and movement, respectively, in that order. Then, why is it said in the world that fire and so on can be seen with the eyes? Because they must be tangible. Or, the commentary says, what is the difference between earth and so on and the earth element and so on? In this regard, the scriptures speak of tangibility, but in worldly terms, color and shape are called earth, such as blue and square earth. However, there are also examples in the scriptures that conform to worldly sayings. For example, the scriptures say that on the golden ground, patterns of eyes made of lapis lazuli are drawn, and so on. Not only is the earth element known in this way, but the water and fire elements are also known in the world by color and shape, such as blue water flowing long, red fire burning upwards, and so on. There are also examples in the scriptures that conform to this. For example, the scriptures say: There is a burning iron ground, together with burning flames, countless hundreds of thousands of yojanas are covered by flames. Like this, and also, the scholar Hero said: From then on, as blue as the light of sapphire, like the light of the sun melting the blue sky, the water's edge cannot be seen around, and entered into a lake that is difficult to fathom. Like this. The element of the collection of wind is the moving tangible, and the world also says it is wind, for example, the body feels the wind.

Because it is known as earth. Just as in worldly terms, color and shape are referred to as earth, etc., similarly, wind is also spoken of in terms of color and shape. For example, it is said, "The gray wind blows into the sky," and so on. The scriptures also agree with this, for example, it is said, "The bluish-gray wind, having the shape of a bow," and so on. Second, regarding showing them as realms and sources: Those five faculties and five objects that were previously shown in the form aggregate, only those are considered to be the ten form sources, such as the eye source, and the ten form realms, such as the eye realm, because they themselves are the gate of birth and the part of the lineage. (Only excludes non-knowledge.) Explanation of the five objects.
