When Dharma Lord was eighty-one years old, in the year of the Tiger, he was slightly unwell and needed someone to watch over him while he slept. Lama Chokyi Rinchen (Precious Dharma) said, 'When I used to visit you, your health was very good. But this year, no matter what rituals and medicines are used, the effect is not very noticeable, and I am a little skeptical about it. If the prayers are not effective, I would like to ask you for a biography, recording your birth, studies, practices, and activities for the benefit of others in this life.' The Dharma Lord replied, 'We beggars and homeless people do not need biographies.' But he insisted on requesting it, so the Dharma Lord agreed, except for the beginning and ending of the creative cause and purpose, without any exaggeration or slander, completely according to what the Dharma Lord said. This biography is called 'The Precious Garland of the Biography of Dharma Lord Phende Lek Nampar Gyalwa'. With unconditioned wisdom and perfect compassion, I prostrate with reverence at the feet of the Dharma King, who embodies the wisdom of all Buddhas of the three times! With vast wisdom, completely dispelling the armies of the two obscurations; Clearly revealing the vast ocean of Vajrayana; Bestowing the nectar of ultimate meaning upon the assembly of fortunate bees; May the lotus feet of the Dharma Lord, like the sun with its seven horses, remain firm on the crown of my head! Gods, demigods, humans, non-humans, dragon kings, siddhas, vidyadharas, etc., All those who boast of greatness in this world have taken refuge at your feet; Even the king of Buddhas and his retinue praise your virtues daily, what need is there to mention others? The Dharma Lord is the one who was personally blessed and prophesied by the Bhagavan. The sacred land of Tibet, surrounded by majestic and magnificent snow mountains, with clear and cool rivers flowing, was blessed by Avalokiteshvara. In the land of Tibet, incarnate kings, ministers, and Bodhisattvas invited numerous Panditas of the Five Sciences and accomplished saints, initiating, establishing, and propagating the sacred Dharma. Due to the changes of time, the teachings slightly declined. As the Buddha's teachings approached five hundred times eight years, the sentient beings of the degenerate age dwelling in the snowy highlands were tormented by various sufferings and lived in hardship. With compassion, they cared for these beings, and in order to clarify the precious Dharma, especially the ultimate meaning of the Kalachakra Tantra with its six-fold yoga, for the benefit of the sentient beings of the degenerate age, the emanation of the Kalki king, the Dharma Raja, whose other name is 'Victorious Over All Directions,' whose glory of merit shone in the three realms, appeared. This holy being, from countless eons, by diligently accumulating the two accumulations, dispelled the darkness of ignorance of all beings, like the sun. He cleared away the darkness of afflictions, like the full moon. He constantly rained down the nectar of the Great Vehicle Dharma, like the clouds of a perfect age. He subdues all opponents and roars like a lion, taming all. He carries the great burden of asceticism, like an elephant. He is like Mount Meru, unshakable by the hail of evil views. He is the source of countless precious qualities, like a great king. He fulfills all desires at will, like the wish-fulfilling jewel wheel-turning king. Even those who dwell on the great earth find it difficult to fathom his qualities, let alone someone like me, how could I comprehend even a fraction of his wisdom? However, in order to make it understandable to the beings of the degenerate age with inferior faculties, I will roughly narrate the events he manifested in this life, and the instructions on the path, fruit, and vows that I heard from my Guru. (Pages three to six are missing) I received the transmission of the Manjushri Arapachana Sadhana written by Je Tsongkhapa from Guru Lodro Sangpo. I received the transmission of the hundred-offering ritual of Bodhisattva Drakpa Gyaltsen.
