Homage to Guru Manjushri! Your form is like a beautiful, radiant coral, captivating and enchanting. A blazing halo of light completely surrounds you like a wheel. You lead all sentient beings without exception to the pure realm. I prostrate to the all-knowing, the great treasure of wisdom and compassion, the protector, the lord Amitabha! Peerless teacher, possessor of great compassion, may you, with your hook of compassion, surely lead us, the beings to be tamed in this impure realm, to that supreme land of bliss when we die and transmigrate! The glories of that protector's land, according to the meaning as it appears in the sutras, and somewhat following the tradition of Je Rinpoche's explanations, I will respectfully describe briefly. In general, all Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are said to have two pure lands each, a Sambhogakaya and a Nirmanakaya land, attained through the power of their previous aspirations for pure lands. In the Sambhogakaya land, only noble Bodhisattvas are present; ordinary beings do not appear. Moreover, in some Nirmanakaya lands, there are only Bodhisattva retinues, and in some, although there are ordinary beings, they are happy to accumulate the causes for rebirth. In some lands, even if one is born there, one may still fall back into the lower realms, so the purpose is not accomplished. Considering that the causes for rebirth in Sukhavati, which is not confused with other lands, are easy to accumulate, the Teacher extensively explained the qualities of these two lands separately in the sutras. In the Great Liberation Sutra, it is also said: \"I have seen the immovable world and the world of Sukhavati, which are extremely pure, and there is not even the name of suffering.\" In particular, in many descriptions of the benefits in the sutras and tantras, it is often said that one will be born in Sukhavati. Therefore, I will briefly explain the essence of the qualities of Sukhavati, and the causes for being born there as stated in that sutra. Ananda, some sentient beings, the Tathagata..." } ] ============================================================

Those who repeatedly recollect, accumulate immeasurable roots of virtue, generate the mind of enlightenment and completely dedicate it, and make aspirations to be born in that world, when they are near death, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Amitabha, surrounded by many assemblies of monks and nuns, stands before them. Those who, having seen the Bhagavan Amitabha, pass away with a mind of great faith, will surely be born in the Pure Land of Sukhavati. It is said from "Those who, having seen the Tathagata, pass away with a samadhi focused on extreme joy and unfailing mindfulness, will be born in that Buddha-field." In summary, it is repeatedly remembering Amitabha Buddha and reciting his name, accumulating many roots of virtue, generating the mind of enlightenment, dedicating the accumulated roots of virtue for the sake of being born in that land, making aspirations with the desire to be born in that land, and remembering the qualities and arrangements of the vessel and its contents as explained in the sutras. Generating the mind of enlightenment is for the sake of being born into a lineage of the Great Vehicle, while the others are common aspects. In particular, a strong desire to be born in that land is said to be the main cause of being born there. Moreover, one must also strive to confess the faults that hinder birth in that land. If one wishes to be born in that land and feels joy, one must know the qualities of that land, so here, first, the praise of that land will be expressed. To that, one should say: Good, good, in that pure and supreme land, those causes of repeated birth, if one diligently practices which, one will definitely be born, what doubt is there? This is the occasion for speaking of the causes of birth. From the world of Saha to the west, after passing through many Buddha-fields, there is a wonderful and supreme pure land called Sukhavati. Its ground is adorned with many precious jewels, it is extremely delightful and as level as the palm of one's hand. Except for mountains made of jewels, it is devoid of all black mountains and is very clean. Delightful and extremely pure.
