Invite all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the five families and their retinue in the form of Amitayus of the five families. As Amitayus dissolves into the five families, nectar streams down from all parts of the body, filling the disciple's body. From the five poisons of affliction and the sins such as killing that arise from them, generate the thought that you have attained the deathless life accomplishment, the nature of the five wisdoms. Bestow the long life empowerment of the five families on the body. Utter such words and so on. Place the vajra and recite those mantras. If this is done in conjunction with the subsequent permission of the Accomplishment Mother, it is said to be done before the instruction. If done separately, recite auspicious words such as, "Amitayus, the chief guide of the world." Or, "Although the Dharmakaya is inseparable like the sky," and so on, as appropriate. This, relying on the oral instructions of the Guru lineage, thinking that it might be of benefit to one or two others, was compiled by the one named "Study and Accomplishment," and the scribe was Ta'i Lhalung Lobsang Dondrup. Mangalam! The subsequent permission of the five deities of Amitayus of the Jamyang tradition, transmitted from Manjushri to Je Rinpoche (Tsongkhapa) and others.
