Like this, the groups of farmers are scattered everywhere, causing sorrow to the travelers on the road. The second is that the action of one basis is contradictory, like a magician transforming horses, cattle, etc. Those skilled in games know that this is not real, but just appears to be non-existent, while others are characterized by clinging to reality. Like this. The third is that the many qualities of one basis are contradictory, a white face with black hair, young in age but old in wisdom, poor in wealth but rich in learning, skilled in practice but with little benefit to others. Like this. The fourth is material contradiction, a moon-like face with উৎপལ་ (utpala, Sanskrit: utpala, Romanized Sanskrit: utpala, literal Chinese meaning: blue lotus) eyes, conch teeth, coral lips, holding a lute and singing songs, the youthful Queen Mother Saraswati. Like this. The fifth is that the actions of one basis are contradictory, leading fortunate beings to the path of liberation, the second Buddha, although without bias, prevents other doctrines and gives what is not desired. Like this. The sixth is the contradiction of combination, free from impurities, extremely white, very bright, radiating light, flowing with a stream of nectar, beneficial to some and harmful to others. Like this, the moon benefits कुन्द (kunda, Sanskrit: kunda, Romanized Sanskrit: kunda, literal Chinese meaning: jasmine) and harms the lotus, combined together. If combined with Saraswati, it is combined with benefiting and harming the fortunate and the hateful. The twenty-eighth is inappropriate praise, the affairs of officials such as taxes, etc., there is no unsuitable farm work, no agriculture, no need to rely on wealth to make a living, these poor and unemployed lives are happy. Like this. The twenty-ninth is the embellishment of disguised praise, divided into three aspects. First, the disguised praise of perfect power is, without mobilizing troops, just by words alone, many Thais are frightened, if a strong army is assembled, what doubt is there in destroying them? Like this. Second, perfect bravery is, the wheel-turning king with the power of merit, relative to me, you, the god, possess the dominion including the four continents, using it at will, is this appropriate? Like this. Third, the disguised praise of perfect strength is, ruling over many subjects, destroying the armies of enemies, becoming the crown jewel of all arrogant ones, what does this mean to you who rule the land? Like this. The thirtieth is definite instruction, divided into two aspects. First, the definite instruction of the supreme is, very clear and bright

Like on the surface of a mirror, images appear simultaneously, likewise, all knowable things are simultaneously shown to be within the realm of the omniscient. Like that. Second, the ascertainment of what is not supreme: When the sun with its seven horses rises, the light of the firefly stars diminishes. When a wise person appears in the world, know that the foolish and unwise will destroy the Dharma. Like that. Thirty-first, expressing together, there are three types. First, expressing qualities together: The sword in the hand of Manjushri, together with my wisdom, is sharp. The lute in the hand of Saraswati, together with my fame, increases. Like that. Second, expressing different actions together: With a face of mature beauty and whiteness, desire increases for those with desire, and at the same time, my activities also increase through the grace of the goddess Saraswati. Like that. Third, expressing the same action together: With the wisdom of the steadfast wheel, the compassionate blessings of Avalokiteshvara, and the power and abilities of Vajrapani, together they give joy to the mind. Like that. Thirty-second, the ornament of complete transformation: Through the power of learning and reciting the excellent teachings of Tendarwa, the lord of reasoning, ignorance is stolen from my mind, and the wisdom to understand the meaning of the scriptures increases. Like that. Thirty-third, the ornament of auspicious words: May the father, the only son with five tufts, and the queen mother, the goddess Brahma's daughter, grant auspiciousness for the increase of wisdom in all the ways of teaching, debating, and writing. Like that. Thirty-fourth, the ornament of extreme praise: A body adorned with the glory of marks and signs, speech as pleasant as the voice of Brahma, possessing a mind as deep and vast as the ocean, who is there other than Shakyamuni Buddha? Like that. Thirty-fifth, the ornament of having a hidden meaning: The Mirror Treatise, which is like a mirror, and this Clarification of Intent, which explains its hidden meaning, for the sake of benefiting others, as others desire, I have written as much as I myself know. Like that. The examples given in this way are according to the order in which they appear in the root text, but some divisions and sections have been combined, and the examples are mostly taken from the commentary, and the wording has been arranged in a way that is easy to understand according to my own understanding. In this case, both the root text and the commentary

Apart from ornaments like the inherent nature of the earth, most ornaments are termed as crooked ornaments. Ornaments like hyperbole and denial are actual crooked ornaments. In general, there are many great treatises on poetics composed by earlier teachers such as Bharata, the Ramayana, Kumārasambhava, and Rama Sharma, etc. From these, the teacher Daṇḍin selected and compiled to create the Kāvyādarśa.
