Here, special prayers from the Sutra of the Medicine Buddha and its extensive ritual are extracted separately, To engage in them for the benefit of oneself and others is easy and greatly beneficial, Moreover, it will transform the essence of the meaning of the Sutra of the Medicine Buddha and the ritual into practice. Therefore, after blessing the ground and inviting, the seven branches as one part, and the method of reciting the prayers as another part is: If there is a representation, display it. First, send forth Refuge and Bodhicitta, then: By the blessings of the Three Jewels, the Victorious Ones with their Sons, And the power of the two accumulations, the dominion of Dharma-dhatu truth, May all the vessels and contents, offering clouds together, Become like the arrangement of a blissful realm! I pray. Repeat these words seven times. I prostrate to all the Buddhas of the ten directions, including the Bhagavan Glorious Shakyamuni Buddha, I prostrate to the sacred Dharma, I prostrate to the assembly of noble beings such as Avalokiteśvara, Kṣitigarbha, and Vajrapāṇi, I prostrate to all the protectors of the world, and I prostrate to all the great yaksha generals and their retinues. I offer, I take refuge. Three times or once. Then, as in offering resources to the assembly of noble beings, or in summary: I offer to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas all the offerings, whether owned or unowned. I confess all sins and faults. I rejoice in all the roots of virtue of myself and others. I urge all the Buddhas of the ten directions to turn the wheel of Dharma. I request all of them not to pass into nirvana, but to remain forever. I dedicate all the merit of doing so to all beings, may they attain unsurpassed Buddhahood. Then, today, in the presence of the assembly gathered with the princes, by the power of reciting the names of the seven Tathagatas, and by the power of prostrating and making offerings to the teacher, the Bhagavan Glorious Shakyamuni Buddha, may it be in accordance with the special aspirations of those Tathagatas in the past, may all the harm and diseases of all sentient beings, including us, who are tormented by various diseases, afflicted by epidemics, executioners, curses, zombies, and various fears, be immediately pacified. Until the ultimate end of enlightenment, may epidemics and evil demons, and all diseases disappear, may they be completely pacified. May all sentient beings, including us, all the blind, deaf, mute, lepers, and those afflicted with serious diseases, until the ultimate end of enlightenment, may all their senses be fully complete, may all suffering and disease be completely cut off. May all sentient beings, including us, all those obscured by attachment, hatred, and ignorance, those who commit the five heinous crimes, those who behave improperly, those who abandon the sacred Dharma, those who commit various sins and non-virtuous deeds, fall into the lower realms.
