In order to purify through practice. Well, why are the nine grounds and below explained from the perspective of complete practice, but the tenth ground is not explained in this way? There is a reason for this. Because by explaining the nature of the tenth ground, one can also understand the nature of the nine grounds and below. In addition, in order to understand the complete practice of the tenth ground by explaining the complete practice of the other nine, there is a way to explain the tenth ground from the perspective of its nature, that is, surpassing the nine grounds to be surpassed, and before attaining the Buddha ground, the bodhisattva ground called the Buddha ground is shown as its nature. There are nine grounds to be surpassed in the tenth ground, because they exist in the inferior eight grounds and the lower grounds of the bodhisattvas. There is a reason for calling these nine the grounds to be surpassed, because the activities of surpassing the inferior eight grounds are observed with wisdom, and those grounds of the bodhisattvas are the path of arising, abiding, and surpassing. There are eight inferior grounds: the ground of lineage, the eighth ground, the ground of seeing, the ground of thinness, the ground of detachment from desire, the ground of accomplishing actions, the ground of the hearers, and the ground of the solitary Buddhas. The essence is: the path of preparation of the hearers is the first, the realization of entering the stream is the second, the realization of the path of seeing of the stream-enterer is the third, the realization of the once-returner is the fourth, the realization of the non-returner is the fifth, the realization of the hearer arhat is the sixth, the realization of the other stream-enterer fruit positions is the hearer ground, and the realizations of the solitary conquerors are all established on the solitary conqueror ground. There is a reason for calling the wisdom of the tenth ground the Buddha ground, because after obtaining the subsequent attainment of the tenth ground, one obtains a door of benefiting others that is equal to the Buddha, and therefore it is called that. As it is said in the Uttaratantra: "The conduct of the Bodhisattva, the subsequent attainment is equal to the Tathagatas, benefiting all sentient beings, the world becomes equal." Second, there is transference, that is, from when the complete practice of each ground's own share is completed, it is established as being transferred to another ground. Third, in the sections such as "On the paths of seeing and meditation," in accumulating the resources of the antidotes, there are two: essence and division.

Therefore, the first point is that the wisdom of the Mahayana Arya, which is the antidote to the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of meditation, is its nature. The second point is that if we distinguish, there are two, namely, the antidote to the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the collection of antidotes to the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of meditation. These two each have their own nature, namely, the Mahayana path of seeing, the uninterrupted path that directly destroys the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, is the nature of the first; the Mahayana path of meditation, the uninterrupted path that directly destroys the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of meditation that belongs to its own part, is the nature of the second. These two each have four to be abandoned, namely, the four kinds of conceptualizations that are to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of meditation, which have the aspect of the obscuration of knowledge and the apprehended and the apprehender. Fourth, in the case of "for the sake of... and equality," etc., establishing renunciation has two aspects: nature and classification. The first point is that the wisdom of the pure land that undoubtedly leads its own result to omniscience is the nature and establisher of establishing renunciation. The second point is that if we classify, there are eight, namely, there are eight distinctions through the eight doors of renunciation. This is also because there are eight in total, combining the three great ones into one, three distinctions of great mind, two distinctions of great abandonment, and two distinctions of great realization. Thus, the three mothers of the Buddhas are the garden of what is to be said, the three wisdoms are the wish-fulfilling tree, the top of the branches of the four practices are luxuriant, and the fruits of the four kayas are heavy. The Victorious Mother, like the beautiful body of ornaments, is adorned with the ten beautifying dharmas, which in the first clarification of the general meaning, the light illuminates the mind and generates joy. Thus it is said. This general meaning of the first chapter was also written with faith by a Shakya monk named Explainer and Practitioner at Chone Monastery. Auspiciousness! The general meaning of the first chapter of the Ornament of Clear Realization, the Lamp of Clear Light.
