If one makes aspirations and dedications, one will be born there. Furthermore, remembering the qualities of the pure land, wishing to see the face of Akshobhya, wishing to be with him, remembering the number and qualities of the Buddha's retinue, reciting the name of Akshobhya and prostrating, building statues, making offerings, etc., reciting the names of the two great powerful sons, and making aspirations to be born there, and also urging others to do so, one will be born in that pure land. In short, if one thinks that after being born in that pure land, one will benefit all sentient beings, one will be born there, as it is the main cause. Those who wish to be born in that pure land, when they are about to die, if they remember and pray to Buddha Akshobhya and the Sangha, they will come to his presence and appear, and with joy in their hearts, after death they will be born in that pure land. Furthermore, knowing and grasping the main points of the qualities of Akshobhya's pure land, as mentioned above, and leading others to enter that path, Buddha Akshobhya will be mindful, and one will be born in that pure land. The cause for being able to do so is said to be none other than the power of the Buddha himself and the strength of past aspirations. One should also know that there are immeasurable benefits in proclaiming the excellence of the pure land, knowing it oneself and showing it to others. The aspiration prayer for being born there is as I have recited separately. This passage is about the section on explaining the cause of being born in that pure land. Whoever, with a focused and respectful mind, holds, offers, praises, and prays to which Buddha, whatever are the collections of causes for being born in that pure land, it is very important to strive to accomplish those that are said. If one merely holds the name of the victorious Akshobhya, one can be liberated from the lower realms and be born in the supreme pure land of Abhirati. Since this is the case, who would say anything about accomplishing these collections of causes? Thus it is. Furthermore, our own teacher has also proclaimed other Buddha-field praises, but especially praised Sukhavati and Akshobhya's pure land, because this pure land

Most people are able to be born there because they see some special necessity. Even if born in some other Buddha-fields, they may fall back into the lower realms. And it is very difficult to be born in some places. As for the way of praise, it is also seen in other sutras, but here is just a brief example. The Sutra of Great Liberation says: I have seen the world of Akshobhya and the world of Sukhavati, which are very pure, and there is not even the name of suffering. So it is. It is said: In the center of the unfathomable great ocean, like a precious Indra-nila mountain. In the midst of many retinues, whose body is it? Brightly and clearly shining, it is the Buddha Akshobhya. With reverence, I pray to you, may I be able to truly describe the splendor of your pure land. May the person who speaks in accordance with the truth be liberated from all that is unpleasant. Good, good, you are the lord of the victors, rescuing from the evil ocean of suffering, and leading many sentient beings to the stable, supreme, and blissful place of Bodhi. Here, with proper and truthful effort in the three doors, whatever goodness is obtained, may this merit be dedicated so that in life after life, a leisure body is obtained, and Buddhahood is quickly attained. This is a summary of the meaning from the Sutra of the Pure Land of Akshobhya. Knowing all the key points of the sutras, tantras, and instructions, and also having obtained the ability to be close to the deity, worthy to be counted among the wise and accomplished, Shakya monk Gyaltsen Pal Zang, at his urging, was quickly written by Gerapa Shedrup, who is well-versed in scriptures and commentaries, and who resides on the throne of the Chone Monastery. Auspicious! The method of viewing the pure land of Akshobhya is the ladder to the excellent pure land.
