Although residing, it is not that Bodhisattvas, by their power, dwell well in solitude. Because for ordinary beings, self and other's benefits are mixed together, although it is difficult to generate the mind of benefiting others, if one abandons benefiting others, then no matter how much one strives in virtue, one will not surpass the path of good rebirths or Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Therefore, for virtuous deeds that primarily aim at one's own benefit, such as performing rituals and eliminating obstacles, one should expand their scope through dedication and aspiration, making them acts of benefiting others. If one lacks the intention to pursue complete enlightenment and does not have the mind of benefiting others, then one is not a vessel for the Great Vehicle path, and it is difficult to become a vessel for Secret Mantra. Hatred is the greatest sin in all aspects, and so are desire and the other three. Among them, desire itself can bring both benefit and harm, but for everyone, if desire brings harm, then the result of that desire is the greatest sin, and it is not necessarily so in other cases. Ignorance is the root of desire and hatred, and from it, other afflictions arise. Due to the power of afflictions, कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) is accumulated, and due to the power of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action), rebirth is projected. Some fulfill the result of that projection. The main affliction in what is called rebirth due to the power of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) and afflictions is ignorance. Although there are two types of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action), virtuous and non-virtuous, both are included in the कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) of formation. Due to the power of ignorance, virtuous and non-virtuous कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) are accumulated, and one is projected into good and bad rebirths. If it is due to the power of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) and afflictions, then it is said to be projected into samsara. Among them, there is also projection into the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. For ordinary beings, rebirth in pure lands such as Sukhavati, some say it is due to the power of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) and afflictions, but it would be better to say that it is projected through skillful means, aspiration, and merit. The time when the fruit of कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) ripens is not necessarily in a fixed order. As Vasubandhu said in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: "Among the कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) that are heavy, near, habitual, and done earlier in samsara, the earlier ones ripen earlier." Like that, among virtuous and non-virtuous कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action), whichever is greater, or whichever manifests at the time of death, or whichever is habitual and powerful, or whichever was done earlier, the results of those कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) will ripen in order, or whichever ripens first. The कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action) of sentient beings will not be wasted even after hundreds of eons. When they gather and the time comes, the fruit will naturally ripen. However, most non-virtuous कर्म (Tibetan: ལས།, Devanagari: कर्म, Romanized Sanskrit: karma, Literal meaning: action)

Confession and other antidotes, whether or not they produce Vipāka (result of actions) is uncertain, and there is no Vipāka in actions without outflows. When afflictions are eradicated from the root, the previously done actions with outflows, no matter how much there is, cannot produce the fruit of Vipāka. For example, just as a dry seed devoid of moisture cannot produce a green sprout. Therefore, of the two, actions and afflictions, abandoning afflictions is of great importance. However, for those who are the first practitioners of actions, purifying karmic obscurations is crucial. Anger completely destroys Vipāka, and the Vipāka of virtuous actions also cannot be accomplished, at that time those actions are like unspecified actions. Stealing and other actions, in this life, may obtain wealth and power, but that is a temporary condition, it is the result of human action, not Vipāka. Similarly, giving and practicing Dharma, in this life, may suffer poverty and misery, but that is a temporary condition, not Vipāka. As mentioned above, one should distinguish the difference between the results of previously done actions and temporary conditions, and should not confuse them as one. Do you not understand the difference between actions and results? Even if you understand, do not despise the difference. In particular, different from the three lower realms, one may become disgusting tangible things such as snakes, frogs, insects, etc. that are seen with one's own eyes. In short, abandon evil and do good deeds as much as possible, without confusing the happiness and suffering produced by the Vipāka of good and evil, this is the law of dependent origination and Dharma nature. For example, even if various seeds such as wheat, barley, beans, etc. are mixed and sown, each will produce fruits without confusion, it is impossible for beans to grow from wheat. Similarly, the fruits of all external things arise separately without confusion, this is an obvious fact. The view of understanding in this way is the correct view of worldly people. Whoever has such a view, it is said that in thousands of kalpas, they will not fall into the lower realms. This method is the discerning hermit, Kunga Norbu earnestly urged, for the sake of practice, it is necessary to write letters like this. Therefore, it was written by the one named Shedup (teaching and practice). However, regardless of whether the sentences are good or not, without any consideration, just quickly writing down what appears in the mind without hindrance, mistakes are for the wise.
