Because it is possessed by the wisdom that directly realizes the four things that cannot be spoken of and that the feeling of craving is nameless in the ultimate sense, therefore there are four. There are four objects of cessation, namely, cessation has no going in the ultimate sense, peace is not taken away by conditions, wonderful liberation is inexhaustible, and renunciation has no birth, because it is possessed by the wisdom that directly realizes them, therefore there are four. The path truth has fifteen aspects, namely, the four paths of seeing of the Bodhisattva who directly realizes the selflessness of the person who is the doer, the knower, the one who moves from the place, and the one who subdues the afflictions, and the five paths of meditation of the Bodhisattva who directly realizes that external objects are without essence, unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the moment of patience, and naturally completely liberated from suffering, and the six paths of seeing of the Bodhisattva who directly realizes that there is no pervasive affliction of external objects, there is no purity, there is no defilement by habit, there is no elaboration of distinctions, there is no attachment to arrogance, and there is no other object of the immovable object. The latter sums up to fifteen, namely, the four uncontaminated paths of seeing that are the antidote to the afflictive obscurations, the five contaminated paths of meditation that are the antidote to the apprehended and apprehender of the cognitive obscurations, and the six uncontaminated paths of seeing that are the antidote to them. Secondly, the aspect of the knowledge of the path is what is said from "cause and path and suffering" to "five and sixteen are thus proclaimed." The meaning is: knowable things, having the aspect of the knowledge of the path, there are thirty-six, namely, the cause of origin and the path truth and the result of suffering and the truth of cessation, if they are applied in order, the origin truth has eight aspects, the path truth has seven, the suffering truth has five, and the cessation truth has sixteen objects, as it is said and proclaimed in the Mother Sutra. The origin has eight objects, namely, the aspect of the cause is the craving of desire for objects and the craving of desire and the joy of rebirth, the antidote to these three is the three paths of seeing of the Bodhisattva. The aspect of arising is the antidote to the three of desire and hatred and ignorance is the three paths of seeing of the Bodhisattva.

Oṃ. One of the paths of seeing of a Bodhisattva is the antidote to clinging to purity, happiness, permanence, and self as the excellent birth. One of the paths of seeing of a Bodhisattva is the antidote to clinging to the appearance of conditions as independent sentient beings, hence there are eight. The truth of the path has seven: For the appearance of the path, there are two paths of seeing that open the opportunity for liberation to immeasurable sentient beings and that are not connected to the two extremes of cyclic existence and nirvana. For the appearance of reason, there are two paths of seeing that realize that all phenomena are undifferentiated in ultimate truth and that do not cling to the path of hearers and solitary realizers as supreme. For the appearance of practice, there are two paths of seeing that do not conceptually elaborate all phenomena in ultimate truth and that realize the immeasurable. For the appearance of definite emergence, there is one path of seeing that has the aspect of non-attachment to all phenomena in ultimate truth, hence there are these. The truth of suffering has five: the aggregates are impermanent, are suffering, are empty, are selfless, and there are five aspects of the path knowledge of a Bodhisattva that realizes the signless in ultimate truth, hence there are five. The truth of cessation has sixteen objects of observation: For the appearance of cessation, there are three path knowledges of a Bodhisattva that realize the three aspects of emptiness—inner, outer, and both—having abandoned all clinging to truth in the phenomena of inner, outer, and both. Similarly, for the appearance of peace, there are eight path knowledges that realize the eight aspects of emptiness—emptiness, great, ultimate, conditioned, unconditioned, beyond extremes, without beginning or end, and without abandonment. For the appearance of the extraordinary, there is one path knowledge that realizes the aspect of self-nature emptiness. For the appearance of definite emergence, there are three path knowledges that realize the three aspects of emptiness—all phenomena, self-character, and non-apprehension. There is one aspect of path knowledge that realizes the aspect of emptiness of the nature of non-entity, hence there are these. Third, the aspect of all-knowingness is: From mindfulness, etc., to what is said between “thirty-nine.” The meaning is: This Perfection of Wisdom is directly shown by the perfections of mindfulness, etc., beginning with mindfulness, this Perfection of Wisdom is the perfection of the Buddha, etc.
