Methods for Increasing Prosperity: The Dragon Vase Treasure, the Source of All Desires, and How to Examine Famine; Methods for Increasing Prosperity. Methods for Increasing Prosperity: The Dragon Vase Treasure, the Source of All Desires, and How to Examine Famine; Methods for Increasing Prosperity. Methods for Increasing Prosperity: The Dragon Vase Treasure, the Source of All Desires, and How to Examine Famine, along with other Methods for Increasing Prosperity. Namo Nāgarājeshvarāya. (Tibetan) Homage to the Dragon King, the自在! Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the source of all desires, eliminating the suffering of poverty for beings, and the wealth and increase of the Dragon King and his retinue. Having paid homage, I will briefly write about the vase treasure. Here, as a means to increase prosperity for oneself and others, the method of making the vase treasure is as follows: The teacher Nāgārjuna said: Into the son of the Dragon Wealth Increase, place an image surrounded by the eight great Dragon Kings, and various jewels, etc. Until it becomes a common object of wealth to be enjoyed. If the essence is recited continuously for seven days, one will be separated from all poverty. Thus it is said. There are four aspects to this: the difference in the material and size of the vase, the difference in the substances, how to accomplish it, and how and where to place it. First, Ngorchen said: The vase should be able to hold the contents without being smaller than the measuring vessel of whatever place it is in, a precious vase that does not mix iron, copper, and lead, or a vase made of clay, etc. If we consider this place, then the measuring vessel seems to be something called a wooden thorn. In particular, it is excellent if the material of the treasure vase is as previously described, and the size is accomplished as described in the tantras. Such a vase does not necessarily have to be white in nature. If it is not, then coat it with white lime and draw the eight auspicious symbols, and on whatever side faces forward, draw a blazing jewel. Second, neck hair, nose hair, any grains that can be found such as barley, except for buckwheat, and substances harmful to the dragons, such as Garuda claws, three hot spices, musk, etc., and various medicines that are not mixed with poisons, and as much dragon medicine as can be found. Various jewels other than iron, lead, and copper, sandalwood white, red, agarwood, etc., any fragrant substances that are not harmful to the dragons. Various foods that are not mixed with meat and alcohol, various clothes, the three white substances of butter, balls of the three sweets, things that have not been stepped on by humans or touched by livestock.

It is said that the names of various grains produced from the earth, as well as great people, wealthy men and women, those with wealth, and wealth deities should also be written and included. It is very good to add words that express the fulfillment of wishes after the names of the wealth deities. The third is, if wealthy, to mix various Naga medicines and good ingredients to make images of the eight great Nagas, mainly the father and mother. As Nagarjuna said, "Place the son of Naga Increase in an image surrounded by the eight great Nagas, and fill it with various jewels, various Naga medicines, and various grains." If not wealthy, one can either draw or carve both the Naga King and the image of the Naga, and fill the space between with vermilion. In any case, if elaborate, eight vases should be placed in the eight directions, each containing one of the eight great Nagas, and in the lower part of the central vase, Naga Increase father and mother for increasing prosperity. If it is for increasing the volume of seawater, then Varuna is the main one. Therefore, put in what you want. On top of that, place a painted or sculpted image of the Tathagata Naga King, the main figure and the five attendants. Alternatively, place one vase each in the four directions and the center, making five in total. Or, divide the vases into two layers, upper and lower, with the Nagas and their retinue in the lower one, and the Tathagata and the five main attendants in the upper one. Nagarjuna also said, "The two vases, place the Naga vase below, and the Bhagavan vase above." However, the teacher did not say to do anything other than two vases in the sadhana. It says, "In one of the two vases, fill it with the image of the Bhagavan and his retinue, and various jewels and grains. In the other, place the son of Naga Increase, and place it in an image surrounded by the eight great Nagas, filling his hands with various jewels." Thus, according to the order of the sadhana below, place the images inside the vases, fill them well with various grains, and seal them with clay, etc. Then place them on the altar, on a clean base with an eight-petaled lotus and center, arranging nine vases in order. If making two vases, place them on the centers of two eight-petaled lotuses. If there is only one vase, place it accordingly on one center.
