The Abridged Meaning Commentary on the Seven Chapters of the Yamari Tantra: Opening the Door to the Tantra. The Abridged Meaning Commentary on the Seven Chapters of the Yamari Tantra: Opening the Door to the Tantra. The Abridged Meaning Commentary on the Seven Chapters of the Yamari Tantra, called "Opening the Door to the Tantra," is complete. Homage to Manjushri! Manjushri, the one father of all Buddhas, the peaceful form, who manifested the wrathful form to tame the unruly. I prostrate to the Bhagavan Lama Yamari, and then write this summary of his tantra. This, the seven chapters extracted by the great adept Lalita from the extensive Yamari Tantra, will briefly explain how the subject matter is taught, relying on the difficult explanations of Acharya Akshobhya, Saunashri, Vajrasiddha, and Kumara Chandra, and the instructions of the wise and accomplished Rinpoche. This has seven chapters or sections, the first, the chapter on teaching the mandala; the second, the chapter on accomplishing all actions; the third, the chapter on teaching the recitation of mantras; the fourth, the chapter on visualizing the deity; the fifth, the chapter on the ritual of painted images; the sixth, the chapter on the extensive ritual of fire offering; the seventh, the chapter on examining the accomplishment of meditative actions. Among these, the first chapter explains the distinctions of places, etc. The place is: First, the mantra practitioner should accomplish all the necessities for the place in any pleasing location. The places mentioned therein are from "cemeteries, etc." to "the mantra practitioner dwells in places such as villages." The distinction of the mantra practitioner is: "The yogi who has received the great empowerment of glorious Vajrabhairava." The distinction of the various actions is: "Empowerment and summoning, as well as speaking and expelling, separating and stiffening, swords, etc." to "accomplish with this ritual." The distinction of the teacher is: "Among these, the ritual is first performed by the mantra practitioner smearing the body with great ashes" to "the yogi with the face of a buffalo." The distinction of the mandala is: "Having drawn the mandala in cemeteries, etc., it is square with four doors, adorned with four horse heads, bells, silk banners, flower garlands,

Furthermore, all the monks in the directions and corners, and the boundaries of the door frames, are adorned with vajra jewels, like crescent moons. In the center, the wheel to be drawn is a round nine-square grid. The one door should be distinguished, and the rest should be completely closed off. In the center, a corpse should be drawn. The head to the east, the hands to the south, the intestines to the west, and the feet to the north. In the southeast corner, a skull; in the southwest, a pile of skulls; in the northwest, a burial shroud; in the northeast, a man impaled on a bright stake. These are the symbolic hand gestures in the center of the wheel. Then, the hand gestures on the outside of the wheel: on the cloth of the east, draw a curved knife, a single-pointed weapon, a pestle, a water knife, a single-pointed vajra, a hook, and so on. On the cloth of the south, draw an axe, an arrow, a khatvanga, a staff, a wheel, a vajra lasso, and so on. On the cloth of the west, draw a vajra, a small bell, a shield, a bow, a bell, a wind cloth, and so on. On the cloth of the north, draw a threatening gesture, a three-pointed trident, an ox hide, a vajra hammer, a spear, a hearth, and so on. It is said that the fourfold meaning of "and so on" indicates that a buffalo and a bull should be added to the east, a pig and a donkey to the south, a peacock and a dog to the west, and a hearth and a sheep to the north, two each. Then, at the four doors and in the corners, great corpses should be drawn. The meaning of this will be explained below. Regarding the meaning of this mandala, some Chinese texts do not explain how to generate the central symbol as the solitary hero Bhairava and the eight corpses, and how to generate other symbols as deities. However, according to the intention of Lalita, Khedrup Rinpoche and others generated them as deities and combined them with the forty-nine mothers. Here, there are two types of deities: the causal deities and the resultant deities. The forty-nine causal deities are Manjushri in the center; the retinue is, in the inner east, Ignorance Vajra; in the south, Miserliness; in the west, Desire; in the north, Jealousy Vajra; in the inner southeast, Mind-Mother Vajra Mother; in the southwest, Jewel; in the northwest, Dharma; in the northeast, Action Vajra Mother. On the outer deity cloths, on the right and left sides of the east door, draw Sharp Vajra.
