It does not allow those faults that must be the same. Moreover, all interdependent actions are reasonable in a way that is free from permanence and annihilation. Therefore, it is important to understand how to establish the continuum of aggregates, because not understanding this, even rationalists generate great errors. Some also say: Burning a tree with a candle, sprouting a seedling from a seed, and filling a vase with water until it is full are all known by all foolish people. What is the use of you saying it that way? There is no fault. Although foolish people also acknowledge it that way, it is not because they truly understand the system of cause and effect. They still ignorantly view things as truly existent and permanent, and cling to all that comes before and after as one whole, unable to differentiate. They acknowledge it in that way, but here, because we understand the difference and express it, there is no contradiction. Just like these three examples, this way of attaining enlightenment through generating the mind of enlightenment, whatever the Dharma of samsara or nirvana, one must understand how the result is obtained through the cause. Therefore, whatever the Dharma of samsara or nirvana, one must develop certainty in the profound interdependent relationship in which the ways of generating results from causes are empty of inherent existence but appear conventionally. One should not grasp all that comes before and after as one, and view those causes and results as permanent, or view them as annihilated, and one should not abide in the views of permanence and annihilation. So, why is it that in the Sutras of the Mother and the Compendium, there is no direct refutation of how Buddhahood is attained through other causes, but such a determination is made to resolve doubts about how Buddhahood is attained through generating the mind of enlightenment? This is because the noble Ada Kayeshé said: The mind is the cause of the arising of wisdom, do not seek the Buddha elsewhere. As it is said, the ultimate wisdom of the Buddha is attained by knowing the nature of the mind and completely subduing the mind, and it is not attained by seeking it elsewhere. Since all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana depend on the root of the mind, the two previous generations of the mind of enlightenment are shown to be the main cause of attaining Buddhahood. In order to understand this well, such a determination was made. This is also to avoid the views of permanence and annihilation.

No. Thus, just as the way to generate complete enlightenment through bodhicitta is profound, similarly, when conditioned phenomena arise from their own continuum, although they do not come from anywhere in a way that is established by their own nature, it is reasonable for them to arise nominally, so their arising is profound. And when they ultimately cease, although they do not go anywhere in a way that is established by their own nature, it is reasonable for them to cease nominally, so their cessation is profound, and so on. One should also understand the meaning of the eight profound aspects. The commentary "Meaning Clear" states: "By the examples given above, one should also understand the eight profound natures of phenomena." From "Where are the eight profound aspects?" to "arising and ceasing," etc. Thus it is said: Sentient beings have different inclinations, And there are various things to be sought. But in this kind of profound reasoning, I wish to benefit those with inclinations. From the very eight profound aspects, Beginning with the profound arising and ceasing, May the merit of slightly illuminating the meaning of the Mother, Quickly attain profound and complete enlightenment! This was composed by the Shakya monk Drakpa Shedrup, based solely on faith. Auspicious! Auspicious! The essence of a portion of the meaning of the Mother Sutra, answering questions and resolving doubts about how to attain complete enlightenment through bodhicitta.
