The past and future are not the main ones. Secondly, regarding the detailed analysis of the remaining meaning. Some people think that the past sprout occurred before the sprout, and the future sprout occurred after the sprout, which is very wrong. Because thinking like that, one commits the mistake of not distinguishing between the past of the sprout and the past in the time of the sprout, and the future of the sprout and the future in the time of the sprout. The difference has been explained before. Therefore, the past of the sprout is what occurred after the sprout, and the future of the sprout is what goes before the sprout. Some say that although permanent things are present, they do not necessarily have to be present, and should be examined. Things like rabbit horns and the sky, although they are future, are not the future. Then, like yesterday's sprout, is it not considered the past, and like tomorrow's sprout, is it not considered the future? It is not considered so. Because they are only present. The present must be calculated in relation to the time of the thing itself. Just because today, which is being spoken by the one who uses the term of time, is not present, it does not become not present. Therefore, some people think that yesterday and previous months and years, and the people of that time are the past, and tomorrow and later months and years, and the people of that time are the future, which is a great mistake. This is because without ascertaining any of the ways of establishing the three times as explained in the great treatises, they have the fault of taking the time of the one who speaks the term of time as only the present, and encompassing the past in that time as the past, and the future in that time as the future. Therefore, one should distinguish between the general views of the three times, and the differences of the three times in relation to the speaker's own time. Some people, without distinguishing these differences, say that the people of the first kalpa have already died and are the past, which is very unreasonable. If that were the case, they would also become not human. Therefore, the people of the first kalpa have not generally died, because they are living beings, because they are human. Moreover, the past that has already come in the past, and the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, kings, ministers, and Panditas who will appear in the future

Worms and any other sentient beings, as well as sentient beings of one's past and future lives, although they do not exist now, generally exist. Similarly, past and future years, months, days, and times, although they do not exist in today's time, generally exist. Good and bad deeds, etc., that have been done before and will be done later, although they do not exist now, generally must be acknowledged to exist nominally. This is also based on dependent origination as a measure, believing that they exist in a conventional, illusory way, rather than being established from their own side, as they appear unchanging and clearly in our minds now. As the Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path says, "These past things, etc., are not completely non-existent, nor are they established by their own nature, and the meaning of false or deceptive is the meaning of dependent origination." Therefore, things that have already happened in the past, relative to the present time, have passed, but generally they have not passed. Those things that will happen in the future, relative to the present time, are future, but generally they are not future. Therefore, as it says in the Compendium Sutra, "The Buddhas who have passed away and have not yet come, abide filling the ten directions." Like this, if one establishes the system of the three times in relation to the speaker's own time, then it is easy to understand if one says the past time, the present time, and the future time, and the Buddhas who have appeared, abide, and will appear in those times. Although the past and future two times are not established in the present time, the Buddhas know them all at once when they attain enlightenment, because the time of knowing and the time of establishment do not have to be the same. For example, although what was done yesterday does not exist today, it can be remembered. If the sentient beings that existed in the past generally exist, then how is it that some people now ask others, do your parents exist? And that person answers that my parents have already died. There is no fault, although it is said that way literally, the meaning is that the time of death has passed, and they do not exist at the time of speaking, so there is no contradiction in thinking that way. If it is not understood that way, according to the literal meaning, I would not be born from my parents, because my parents have died and do not exist. If it is not universally applicable, then it would follow that a son is born from non-existent things. Even so, people who have not died exist, but dead people do not exist, people ah.
