The Essence of the Two Stages of the One Hero Vajrabhairava, the Jewel Spike. The Essence of the Two Stages of the One Hero Vajrabhairava, the Jewel Spike. This is called "The Essence of the Two Stages of the One Hero Vajrabhairava, the Jewel Spike." Homage to Mañjughoṣa. Mañjuśrī, the one father of all Buddhas, Wrathful King, who manifested in a wrathful form as the Destroyer of Yama, Tsongkhapa, who holds the conduct of a spiritual friend in degenerate times, I respectfully rely on his inseparable lotus feet with my head. Although there are many wrathful Yamāntakas of Mañjuśrī, here, the great terrifying one, the single hero, the arrangement of the path is based on the two stages. I will explain the essential instructions of the holy ones in brief. Here there are two: an explanation of the arrangement of the generation stage and the completion stage. The first has two parts: from which tantra is this explained, and the actual arrangement of the generation stage. The first is explained from the root tantra of Vajrabhairava himself, and from many tantras such as the Seven Discriminations and the Samputa Tantra. In particular, since the meaning is taught by the first two, it is not merely extracting the first union of the Thirteen Deities. The second is to practice by gathering painted images, etc., in accordance with the mind of the place. There are three aspects to this: how to do it at the beginning of the session, the essence, and the end. The first has four parts: blessing the inner offering, the preliminary torma ritual, how to bless the self-generation offering, and the Vajrasattva meditation and recitation. The first is to generate oneself instantaneously on a lotus and sun seat as glorious Vajrabhairava, one face and two arms holding a curved knife and skull cup. There is a need to do so, because it is for the purpose of blessing the offering substances that will appear below. The actual method of blessing the inner offering has four parts: purification, cleansing, generation, and blessing. The first is done through reciting Oṃ Hrīḥ Śrīḥ, etc., because simultaneously with reciting that mantra, one imagines emanating a multitude of Vajrabhairavas, one face and two arms holding a curved knife and skull cup, from one's heart, dispelling the obstructing spirits dwelling in the substances. There is a method of cleansing: through reciting the Svabhāva mantra (Tibetan: སྭཱ་བྷཱ་ཝ,Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव,Sanskrit Romanization: svabhāva, Chinese literal meaning: self-nature), the substances, including the vessels, are purified into emptiness and light by their very nature.

Therefore, there is a need for it. Because it is to eliminate the ordinary clinging to substances and to recognize the illusion of emptiness. There is a generation method, starting from emptiness, from yaṃ (Tibetan: ཡཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: यं, Sanskrit Romanization: yaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: wind) arising wind, and from raṃ (Tibetan: རཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं, Sanskrit Romanization: raṃ, literal Chinese meaning: fire) arising the mandala of fire, showing one corner as oneself, on the three corners each placing an a (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal Chinese meaning: none), in the center of the three skull cups, from the white a (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal Chinese meaning: none) arising a skull cup white on the outside and red on the inside, in which, in the four directions and the center, the seed syllables of the five Sugatas bhrūṃ (Tibetan: བྷྲུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रुं, Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Wrathful One), aṃ (Tibetan: ཨཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अं, Sanskrit Romanization: aṃ, literal Chinese meaning: ), jriṃ (Tibetan: ཛྲིཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्रिं, Sanskrit Romanization: jriṃ, literal Chinese meaning: ), khaṃ (Tibetan: ཁཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: खं, Sanskrit Romanization: khaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: space), hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), are filled with the meat of cow, dog, elephant, horse, and human, respectively, starting from go ku da ha (Sanskrit). In the four corners and the center, the seed syllables of the five Sugata Mothers laṃ (Tibetan: ལཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: लं, Sanskrit Romanization: laṃ, literal Chinese meaning: earth), maṃ (Tibetan: མཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: मं, Sanskrit Romanization: maṃ, literal Chinese meaning: water), taṃ (Tibetan: ཏཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: तं, Sanskrit Romanization: taṃ, literal Chinese meaning: ), vaṃ (Tibetan: བཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: ), are filled with excrement, blood, bodhicitta, bone marrow, and urine, respectively, starting from bi ra shu ma mus (Sanskrit). The shape can be imagined as either whole or cut. There is a method of blessing, through the three steps of purification, realization, and increase. That is, on the substance, the three letters are generated stacked from top to bottom, from the hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) in one's own heart, light radiates and stirs the wind. Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) purifies the faults of color, smell, and power. Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, literal Chinese meaning: ) makes it realized as nectar. Oṃ (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: ) increases and expands it. Blessing is done by reciting the three letters three times in the mouth. Like this, generating the Samaya Being is similar to the Wisdom Being entering, generating the substances as such and such is the substance of the Samaya Being. Inviting the deities of body, speech, and mind, and contemplating the three letters and those three dissolving into the substances, is the Wisdom Being entering the substance of the Samaya Being. There is symbolism, the three skull cups symbolize the body, speech, and mind of the practitioner, the skull cup white on the outside symbolizes the white essence and bliss, the skull cup red on the inside symbolizes the red essence and emptiness, the skull cup possessing both symbolizes the great bliss wisdom relying on the union of red and white essences. There is a reason why those substances are generated from the seed syllables of the five families and the five mothers, because it is for contemplating the five families and the five wisdoms, the five mothers and the four immeasurables, each as the nature of the Dharmadhatu. The reason for placing them as nectar substances is to offer to the deities and to enjoy oneself, thereby
