The fourth biography of the noble Marpa Lotsawa is: The fourth biography of the noble Marpa Lotsawa is: First, he was born in Lopu Chukyer, his father was Marpa Wangchuk Öser, and his mother was Gyalmo Öde. He was born in the year of the Water Male Rat. He was handsome and very intelligent. Then, he studied with a Nyingma teacher and became proficient in reading and writing. However, because he was impatient and his behavior was unruly, the family's wealth was greatly lost. One day, feeling weary at a drinking party, he thought, "There is no point in doing these worldly things, so I might as well go to India to study translation and do something meaningful." He discussed this with his relatives, and they all agreed. So they provided him with gold, two horses, grain, and other items as travel expenses. Marpa loaded these things on the horses and met Nyö Lotsawa at Nyangtö Tsi's Lhakhang. Then, in Myugu Lung, he met Dromi Shakya Yeshe. He thought of studying translation and Dharma there, but because the Dharma requirements were strict, he didn't want to stay. Thinking it would be better to go to India, he went to Nepal. He heard that Panchen Naropa's disciples, Sri Terpa and Paidapa, were in a forest edge, so he went to see them with faith. There, he offered gifts and requested Dharma. He heard many teachings on the Hevajra Tantra. He also received empowerment. Now he thought of returning to Tibet to find gold and then go to India again, so he returned to Tibet. There, Nyama and Mikya, among others, came to request Dharma, and the offerings were plentiful. A black, unbridled lion horse, a lion-skin saddle pad, and a fine silk cloth, among other things, were all converted into gold, amounting to about eighteen ounces of gold. He took this gold and went to Klog Kyer again. There, he took fifty ounces of gold and went to Nepal. He stayed near the self-arisen stupa for three years, acclimatizing and studying translation. He learned about the Four Seats and the Black-Faced Vajra Goddess from Sri Terpa. Then he went to India, relied on Pandita Yeshe Nyingpo and Kusulupa, among others, and heard the teachings on the Kriya Father Tantra and Mother Tantra, spending five years. Again, due to lack of food, he went to Nepal. Relatives from Lhodrak and students from Tsang collected a lot of gold and sent it to him,
