The Nature of Body and Mind. The Nature of Body and Mind. The nature of body and mind refers to the two states of matter: body and mind. If one does not understand the material state of the body, because one does not know the key points of meditation, it is like sending a thief into the forest and then tracking him on a rocky surface. Therefore, one must understand its state. The body is the abode of the five kinds of enlightenment, the channels, the bodhicitta, impure substances, and conceptual thoughts. The dharma of the body resides there. One must understand its way of being. If one does not understand the way the mind exists as matter, because one does not know the essence of what is to be meditated upon, it is like shooting an arrow in the dark. The way the mind itself exists as matter is that great wisdom resides in the body, all thoughts are completely abandoned, it pervades all things, and the state of the body is not born from the body. Furthermore, the venerable Tilopa said: "Alas! This is self-awareness wisdom, which transcends the activity of speech and is not the object of the mind. I, Tilopa, have not shown anything. Understand and know it in self-awareness itself." Therefore, one must understand the way the mind exists. The phrase "to practice through the path" means to eliminate the obstacles of the generation stage and the completion stage. Among them, the first stage is that the practitioner, in a secluded and pleasant place, distances himself from worldly affairs, gathers all favorable conditions, sits on a comfortable seat, cuts off the wrong paths of the Lesser Vehicle, generates immeasurable benefit for others, accumulates the two accumulations, and generates the supreme bodhicitta. Without a ditch, water will not flow into the field, therefore, dependent origination is not mistaken, it is harmonious, and the two kinds of accomplishments will arise. May the direct and lineage lamas be of one mind and give their blessings, and may I meditate in the center of my heart. In the presence of the great teacher, the Holy One, for those who are well-established in the generation stage and desire the completion stage, this method is said by the perfect Buddha to be like the rungs of a ladder. And, initially, through the yoga of action, one can attain the eighth bhumi. And, all actions and activities will be accomplished, and ultimately one will attain the body of the Victorious One. Therefore, meditate steadfastly on the generation stage. The second is the completion stage, which is the word of the Victorious Ones.

The intention of all Buddhas, the accomplished ones and the paṇḍitas, although they have spoken of immeasurable completion stages, hold the precepts of Nāro and Maitri. They accept both the with-sign and without-sign. The state of reality has been spoken of above. The so-called arising of the four keys is harmonious. When practicing the completion stage with signs, the key of time is explained. When thoughts are scattered without bias, the king of mind dwells in the navel with A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, IAST: a, Literal meaning: A). The mind-essence rides on the horse of wind, and performs the actions of both samsara and nirvana. By holding the wind inside, thoughts cease, and from this, qualities arise. The key of time is shown by abandoning the inner, evening, and noon times, or when the sun, moon, and planets are held. If it flows in the left channel, press the left channel; if it flows in the right channel, press the right channel; or perform the reverse combination. By this, one enters the central channel. Purify the male and female winds, and constantly purify the neuter wind, making it equal without roughness or smoothness. Now, the key of the body is explained, which should be known as four or six. If they flow separately on the left and right, then the legs should be in the vajra posture. Bind the five gates with the mudra of liberation. Straighten the lower wind and press down the upper wind. The vase-like breath flows through both nostrils. By the key of the body, enter the central channel. The key of the place is in the secret place below the navel, the place where the king of mind dwells. Like placing the target to the west and not shooting the arrow to the east, like placing the arrow on the arrow stand. By the key of awareness, subdue it, entrust the unborn emptiness to A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, IAST: a, Literal meaning: A). Open the knots of the channels and entrust them to the fire, meditate on the bliss-warmth, non-conceptual blazing and dripping. Also, meditate on whatever clear object of focus. The so-called fourfold wind practice, if you do not know the fourfold breath, it is difficult for all qualities to arise. The fourfold combination is: inhaling, filling, suppressing, and shooting like an arrow. By inhaling, it enters inside; by filling, it increases; by suppressing, it pacifies; by shooting like an arrow, it eliminates faults. Relying on life and effort, the distinctions of wind enter the central channel. In that instant, fierce fire blazes, the key to forcefully generating wisdom, experience and realization arise simultaneously. That is the explanation of the completion stage with signs. The completion stage without signs, before the venerable Marpa, prostrating at the feet of Nāro Maitri, the ultimate view is prostration.
