The so-called "Lamp of Intention" is: From the dualistic circle of tears and samsara, the unobstructed clarity of seeing arises. As it is said in the Tantra of Sound Transcending Change: "The very door of the arising of wisdom is, the essence of the body, all pure, emerges from the door called 'eye', showing the appearance of grasping at duality." And as it is said in the Tantra of Unenlightened Self-Nature: "The very body of naked wisdom, relies on one's own eyes, abides on the fruit of the eye, and is clear as unobstructed seeing. In the center of one's own eyeball, this unobstructed, naked appearance is the very body of the naked wisdom of the Buddha." As it is said, the unobstructed clarity of seeing with the eyes is called the "Lamp of Far-Reaching Water." Fifth, the so-called "Lamp of the Bardo Time" is: In the bardo of dharmata, the appearance of the purity of dharmata arises, and one is liberated by recognizing it. As it is said in the Tantra of Self-Arisen Awareness: "The single meaning of self-arisen wisdom, is self-arisen, natural, free from grasping. If one is liberated from grasping at that, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, are liberated into the realm of self-arisen awareness." And, no matter what arises in the appearance of the peaceful and wrathful dharmata, one is liberated by recognizing it as self-appearance. As it is said in the Tantra of the Pile of Thigle: "In the great self-arisen wisdom, the self-radiance appears as the five families." Thus, in the bardo, recognizing one's own nature and being liberated is called the "Lamp of the Bardo Time." Sixth, the so-called "Lamp of the Ultimate Fruit" is: The appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata reaches its ultimate conclusion, and one obtains the ground of non-retrogression. As it is said in the Essence of the Tantras: "In the phenomena of existence and samsara, when the general collection of wisdom increases, in the nature of body and wisdom, the three realms of samsara do not change, and one obtains the vajra body of emptiness." And as it is said in the Aftermath: "Thus, after the ground and path have reached their ultimate conclusion, nirvana is not to be sought elsewhere." Thus, the meaning of the ultimate fruit manifests, and one obtains the ground of non-retrogression, therefore it is called the "Lamp of the Ultimate Fruit." These are the six definitions of the six lamps. Samaya. Sixth, the six states of the six lamps are: First, the abiding ground lamp is: abiding in the manner of the expansion of thigle. As it is said in the Tantra Without Letters: "The essence of the ultimate dharmata, pervades all like oil in sesame seeds." Thus. Second, the lamp of citta-flesh is: Thig

It abides in the state of accumulated bindus. From the tantra of equality with the sky: Like a sesame oil lamp in a golden vase, immutable awareness is clear from within. And, from the tantra of the mirror of the heart: The place is in the center of the five lights within the heart, the peaceful body is like a mustard seed, abiding in the state of a halo of light. The light that arises from it is clear and pure like the mandala of a mirror, or like the rays of the sun's mandala. Thus it is said. Third, the lamp of the white, smooth channel abides in the state of the bindu appearing like the rising sun. From the tantra of the gathering of bindus: The king of channels, with a crystal tube, abides within the sun and moon. And, from the tantra of the burning lamp: The essence of the elements gathers completely, causing appearance in the realm of the senses, this itself abides within the channel. Thus it is said. Fourth, the lamp of the far-flung water abides in the state of the bindu appearing as radiance. From the tantra of the gathering of bindus: The self-radiance of the purity of dharmata abides like the dawn breaking. The rays of the purity of wisdom abides like the sunrise at dawn. And, from the garland of pearls: The path of beings is the gate of seeing, that itself, two on the right, two on the left, in the center, abides in the state of the burning lamp. Thus it is said. Fifth, the lamp of the bardo period abides in the nature of the bindu becoming manifest. From the tantra of one knowing, all liberated: This single, empty-clear bindu is the root of all samsara and nirvana. If the meaning of self-born wisdom is realized, one becomes skilled in one knowing, all liberated. And, from the tantra of the accumulation of bindus: For the great self-born wisdom, the burning rays pervade all. Thus it is said. Sixth, the lamp of the ultimate fruit abides in the state of the bindu ripening into essence. Because there is no cause for production or expulsion, it naturally abides in the original ground. From the cuckoo awareness: Having abandoned the disease of grasping and effort, it is established by naturally abiding. And, from after death: Through the appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata, the appearance of the Great Perfection, free from effort, is attained. Thus, having perfected the ground, path, and fruit, there is no need to seek nirvana elsewhere. And, from the Perfection of Wisdom: Having completely transcended perversion, one attains the ultimate of great nirvana. Thus it is said. These are the six states of the six lamps.
