Recognition of Awareness: Direct Seeing of Self-Liberation. Recognition of Awareness: Direct Seeing of Self-Liberation. From the Profound Dharma of Peaceful and Wrathful Ones, the Self-Liberation of Intentions: "Recognition of Awareness: Direct Seeing of Self-Liberation" is hereby presented. Homage to the self-illuminating awareness, the deities of the three kayas! From the Profound Dharma of Peaceful and Wrathful Ones, the Self-Liberation of Intentions: The Recognition of Awareness: Direct Seeing of Self-Liberation is taught. Thus, through the recognition of one's own awareness, contemplate well, fortunate son of lineage! Samaya! (藏文:ས་མ་ཡ།) Gya Gya Gya! (藏文:རྒྱ་རྒྱ་རྒྱ།) Emaho! (藏文:ཨེ་མ་ཧོ།) The single mind pervading samsara and nirvana, from the very beginning is oneself, yet it is not recognized. Clear awareness is continuous, yet its face is not seen. Unceasingly, whatever arises is not grasped. For the sake of recognizing this very face of oneself, the Buddhas of the three times, with eighty-four thousand dharma doors and countless others, have spoken all to realize this very thing. Other than this, the Buddhas have not spoken anything else. Though the scriptures are as vast as the sky, immeasurable, in essence, these three words, "Recognition of Awareness," are the direct recognition of the Buddhas' intention. Without hiding or diminishing, this is the pointing out. Alas! Fortunate sons, listen here! The great sound that is commonly known as "mind," not realizing this, with wrong thoughts and partial views, and not realizing it as it is, countless philosophical tenets have arisen. Moreover, ordinary individuals, each one, not realizing, not knowing their own face, wander in the three realms and six classes, experiencing suffering. This is the fault of not realizing this very mind. Outsiders, the tirthikas, wrongly think, falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, completely confused. This is also the fault of not realizing this very mind. Shravakas and pratyekabuddhas only partially realize selflessness, though they wish to realize, they do not realize it as it is. Furthermore, each one's own scriptures and philosophical tenets, bound by attachment, obscure the clear light, preventing it from being seen. Shravakas and pratyekabuddhas are obscured by attachment to grasping at characteristics. Madhyamikas are obscured by attachment to the extremes of the two truths. Kriya yogis are obscured by attachment to the extremes of practice and accomplishment. Maha Anu is obscured by attachment to the expanse of awareness. Dividing the non-dual meaning into two is a mistake. Without the non-dual becoming one, one will not attain Buddhahood. In all of one's own mind, in the inseparability of samsara and nirvana, wandering in samsara by means of the vehicle of abandoning and adopting, rejecting and taking. The self-aware three kayas are effortlessly spontaneously present. Other than this, by seeking distant methods of going elsewhere,

The ignorance of considering the path as real distracts from the true meaning; the Buddha's intention transcends the mind, and clinging to the practice of visualization and recitation with characteristics is a mistake. Therefore, abandon all artificial dharmas, and like this, directly show awareness as self-liberated. By teaching this way, realize that all dharmas are self-liberated in the Great Perfection. Therefore, everything is complete in the Great Perfection. Samaya. Gya Gya Gya. Emaho. What is called mind is clear and distinct; in reality, there is not even one existence; what arises is samsara and nirvana, happiness and suffering of all kinds; what is desired is desired like the twelve vehicles; names are given separately in an inconceivable way; some call it mind-essence, mind-essence; some non-Buddhists name it "self"; the Shravakas say there is no self of a person; the Mind-Only school names it "mind"; some name it "Madhyamaka"; some call it Prajnaparamita; some name it Tathagatagarbha; some name it Mahamudra; some name it Single Bindu; some name it Dharmadhatu; some name it Alaya; some name it ordinary consciousness. If this is directly pointed out and introduced, after the past thoughts have disappeared without a trace, when future thoughts have not yet arisen, in the moment of abiding in the uncreated natural state, for this ordinary moment's consciousness, when one stares directly at oneself, in the act of looking, there appears an emptiness that cannot be seen; awareness appears nakedly clear; because nothing is established, it is empty and hollow; because clarity and emptiness are non-dual, it is radiant; it is not permanent, nothing is established; it is not annihilation, it is empty and clear; it is not one, it is aware and clear in many ways; it is not established as many, it is without separation, of one taste; it is not from elsewhere, this is self-knowing. This is the reality of things, the introduction of meaning, in this, the three bodies are complete and inseparable; the emptiness in which nothing is established is the Dharmakaya; the self-radiance of emptiness, which is clear, is the Sambhogakaya; without obstruction, everything arises, is the Nirmanakaya; the three are complete as one, is the essence. If this is pointed out and forcefully introduced, this very moment's awareness is this, the uncorrected self-clarity is this, if one does not realize the mind-essence, what is there to do? For this, there is nothing to meditate on, what is there to do if it does not arise through meditation? Awareness appearing is this.
