Messenger Instructions Related to Wisdom Empowerment from the Great Perfection. Written by Chöying Tobden Dorje. Messenger Instructions Related to Wisdom Empowerment from the Great Perfection. Written by Chöying Tobden Dorje. Messenger Instructions, Bliss and Emptiness Coemergent, Related to Wisdom Empowerment from the Luminous Great Perfection. I prostrate with reverence at the feet of the Lama, inseparable from the Vidyadhara of Mahamudra. Here, from the section on mantras of the Luminous Great Perfection, the Dzogchen Anu Yoga related to the empowerment of wisdom and knowledge. The order of the profound path of messenger instructions has three parts. First, the reason for the necessity: In order to manifest the ultimate wisdom of bliss and emptiness coemergent in all dharmas, there is no other method than the swift path of the emissary who extracts the essence. From Klongsal: All Buddhas of the three times also arise spontaneously from the realm of Bhaga. It is the very source of all phenomena. Bhaga is the place of all secret mantras. It is the origin of great bliss wisdom. There is no other way to rely on this. It is liberation through the tantra of means. Attaining liberation by relying on this great bliss. Perfect Buddhas arise from this. Therefore, the path of secret mantra is profound, liberated by means. The best of means is to meditate on great bliss. That arises from the mother, and the nature of the mother's body is the great space of Bhaga wisdom. In general, the best of all desirable qualities is the practice of desire. Although this attachment is the root of samsara, just as iron cuts iron, or stone breaks stone, or a worm eats wood, by taking attachment itself as the path, the fruit is quickly obtained. This is the vehicle of mantra for those with attachment. Since the union of the two organs makes attachment the path, it is the unsurpassed tantra of mantra. Therefore, it says in the outer tantra of Tara: This wisdom of great desire gives enlightenment to those with desire. And: In countless billions of kalpas, even by merely practicing good conduct, one does not obtain the precious enlightenment, but by this union of hand seals, one will obtain it in this very life. Union with a woman is a great hand seal. That which manifests realization does not require bathing or cleanliness, and without asceticism or vows, only bliss.

Accomplished with joy. By means of statues and the like, yoga will not arise, but if one strives diligently in bodhicitta, then yoga will transform into a deity. All actions, speech, and conduct will transform into mudras, mantras, and rituals. Having properly taken the lamp, take the jewel from the darkness. In the darkness of obscuration, the realm of dharma, should be sought with the bliss of a woman. Thus it is said. Second, summoning after examination. First, examining the mudra-consort separately and examining generally, two types. The first has ten aspects. First, examining the age: The twelve-year-old, from illusion, has twelve aspects of true meaning. Thus it is said. The sixteen-year-old, from the "Praise of Names": "Sixteen, half-half, holding bindu." Thus it is said. The twenty-year-old, is highly praised with the saying, "Twenty aspects of enlightenment." Thus it is said. Second, examining the form: Not thin, not fat, of moderate size, upper and lower body full, waist slender, flesh smooth, soft, supple, and pliant, teeth tight and short, without defects from any angle, with a great smile and beautiful. Third, examining the color: Oily, white with a reddish tinge, hair golden, eyebrows black and curved, eyes with clear distinction between black and white, teeth white, lips heart-red, radiant and blazing with glory. Fourth, examining the voice: A voice that is thin and pleasant, with radiance, possessing a coquettish manner. Few words and clear meaning, speaking truthfully and not lying. Fifth, examining the scent: Smelling good scents and medicinal scents such as musk and sandalwood, able to nourish the body and bring happiness. Sixth, examining the conduct: Not hurried or rushed, but leisurely and calm, knowing all kinds of activities, delighting in prostrations, offerings, and circumambulations, respecting lamas and practitioners, whatever is done is pleasing, beautiful and without fault, delighting in dharma practices such as giving. Seventh, examining the mind: Not liking what is unwholesome, having great faith, reverence, and compassion, broad-minded, able to keep secrets, intelligence clear and pure, consciousness not drawn elsewhere, understanding both high and low, having great faith and affection for practitioners. Eighth, examining accumulation: From those who have accumulated merit from previous times, encountering profound dharma and being suitable vessels.
