For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, who are in their last existence, the faculty of life will not arise there for them, and the faculty of smell does not arise there for them. (Question) For whom, where the faculty of smell does not arise, will the faculty of joy not arise there for them? For those passing away from the sense-sphere, who are without smell, for those being reborn in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, the faculty of smell does not arise there for them, but the faculty of joy will not not arise there for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, who are in their last existence, for non-percipient beings, for those in the formless-sphere, and for those who, having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna, as they pass away, the faculty of smell will not arise there for them, and the faculty of joy will not arise there for them. (Question) Or for whom, where the faculty of joy will not arise, does the faculty of smell not arise there for them? For those in their last existence, being reborn in the sense-sphere, And those with a nose, reborn with equanimity, who will attain final Nibbana, for them, when being reborn, the faculty of joy will not arise there, but for them, the faculty of smell does arise there. For those attaining final Nibbana in the sense-sphere, for last-existents in the form-sphere, for non-percipient beings, for formless beings, and for those who, reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbana, for them, when passing away, the faculty of joy will not arise there, and the faculty of smell does not arise. (Ka) For whom, where the faculty of smell does not arise, for him, will the faculty of equanimity not arise there? For those passing away from the sense-sphere, for those without a nose, being reborn in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, the faculty of smell does not arise there, but for them, the faculty of equanimity will arise there. For those attaining final Nibbana in the sense-sphere, for last-existents in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for non-percipient beings, and for those who, reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbana, for them, when passing away, the faculty of smell does not arise there, and the faculty of equanimity will not arise. (Kha) Or for whom, where the faculty of equanimity will not arise, for him, does the faculty of smell not arise there? For last-existents being reborn in the sense-sphere, and those with a nose, reborn with joy, who will attain final Nibbana, for them, when being reborn, the faculty of equanimity will not arise there, but for them, the faculty of smell does arise there. For those attaining final Nibbana in the sense-sphere, for last-existents in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for non-percipient beings, and for those who, reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbana, for them, when passing away, the faculty of equanimity will not arise there, and the faculty of smell does not arise. For whom, where the faculty of smell does not arise, for him, will the faculty of faith... ...the faculty of wisdom... ...the faculty of mind not arise there? For those passing away from the sense-sphere, for those without a nose, being reborn in the sense-sphere... For those being born in the form realms, in the formless realms, for them there the nose faculty does not arise, but for them there the mind faculty will not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense realm, for those in the form realms, in the formless realms, who are last-existents, for non-percipient beings, for them there the nose faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise. Or for whom, where the mind faculty will not arise, for them there the nose faculty does not arise? For last-existents with a nose, being reborn, for them there the mind faculty will not arise, but for them there the nose faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense realm, for those in the form realms, in the formless realms, who are last-existents, for non-percipient beings, for them there the mind faculty will not arise and the nose faculty does not arise. (Rooted in the nose faculty) 397. (A) For whom, where the female faculty does not arise, for them there the male faculty will not arise? For those passing away from the sense realm, for those not female, being reborn in the sense realm, for them there the female faculty does not arise, but for them there the male faculty will not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense realm, for those in the form realms, in the formless realms, and those females who, having shown a few existences in this very state, will attain final Nibbāna, for them passing away, for them there the female faculty does not arise and the male faculty will not arise. (B) Or for whom, where the male faculty will not arise, for them there the female faculty does not arise? For last-existent females, being reborn, and those females who, having shown a few existences in this very state, will attain final Nibbāna, for them being reborn, for them there the male faculty will not arise, but for them there the female faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense realm, for those in the form realms, in the formless realms, and those females who, having shown a few existences in this very state, will attain final Nibbāna... There are those departing for whom there the faculty of masculinity will not arise and the faculty of femininity does not arise. (Ka) For whom, where the faculty of femininity does not arise, will the faculty of life not arise there? For those departing from the sense-sphere, not for females reappearing in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them there the faculty of femininity does not arise, but for them there the faculty of life will arise. For those attaining Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for those with their last existence, for them there the faculty of femininity does not arise and the faculty of life will not arise. (Kha) Or for whom, where the faculty of life will not arise, does the faculty of femininity not arise there? For females with their last existence, reappearing, for them there the faculty of life will not arise, but for them there the faculty of femininity does arise. For those attaining Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for those with their last existence, for them there the faculty of life will not arise and the faculty of femininity does not arise. (Ka) For whom, where the faculty of femininity does not arise, will the faculty of joy not arise there? For those departing from the sense-sphere, not for females reappearing in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for them there the faculty of femininity does not arise, but for them there the faculty of joy will arise. For those attaining Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, for those with their last existence, for non-percipient beings, for formless beings, and for those females who, having reappeared with equanimity, will attain Nibbāna, for those departing, for them there the faculty of femininity does not arise and the faculty of joy will not arise. (Kha) Or for whom, where the faculty of joy will not arise, does the faculty of femininity not arise there? For females with their last existence, reappearing, and for those females who, having reappeared with equanimity, will attain Nibbāna, for those reappearing For them there the faculty of joy will not arise, but for them there the female faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, for those of final existence in the form-sphere, for non-percipient beings, for formless beings, and for those women who, having arisen with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna, for them, at their passing away, there the faculty of joy will not arise, and the female faculty does not arise. (Q) For whom, where the female faculty does not arise, for them, there the faculty of equanimity will not arise? For those passing away from the sense-sphere, for those not women, arising in the sense-sphere, for those in the form-sphere, for those in the formless-sphere, for them, there the female faculty does not arise, but for them, there the faculty of equanimity will not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for those of final existence, for non-percipient beings, and for those women who, having arisen with joy, will attain final Nibbāna, for them, at their passing away, there the female faculty does not arise, and the faculty of equanimity will not arise. (Q) Or again, for whom, where the faculty of equanimity will not arise, for them, there the female faculty does not arise? For women of final existence, at their arising, and for those women who, having arisen with joy, will attain final Nibbāna, for them, at their arising, there the faculty of equanimity will not arise, but for them, there the female faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere, for those of final existence, for non-percipient beings, and for those women who, having arisen with joy, will attain final Nibbāna, for them, at their passing away, there the faculty of equanimity will not arise, and the female faculty does not arise. For whom, where the female faculty does not arise, for them, there the faculty of faith... etc. ... the faculty of wisdom... etc. ... the faculty of mind will not arise?
