At the moment of the dissolution of the last consciousness with initial application and sustained application, for those endowed with the last consciousness without initial application and sustained application, for whom, immediately after, the last consciousness without initial application and sustained application will arise, for them the body-formation arose, but for them the verbal-formation will not cease. For the others, for them the body-formation arose, and the verbal-formation will cease. (Kha) Or again, for whom the verbal-formation will cease, for him did the body-formation arise? Yes. (Ka) For whom the body-formation arose, for him will the mind-formation cease? At the moment of the dissolution of the last consciousness, for them the body-formation arose, but for them the mind-formation will not cease. For the others, for them the body-formation arose, and the mind-formation will cease. (Kha) Or again, for whom the mind-formation will cease, for him did the body-formation arise? Yes. (Just as in the Section on Cessation, the past and future questions, both direct and inverse, so also in the Section on Arising and Cessation, the past and future questions...) (B) Or whoever fully understands the verbal formation, does that one fully understand the bodily formation? Yes.
