neither wholesome nor unwholesome, and not karmic result, a pleasant abiding in this very life... completely transcending the sphere of nothingness, accompanied by the perception of neither-perception-nor-non-perception, and the abandoning of pleasure... one enters and abides in the fourth absorption, at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction. These phenomena are indeterminate. Knowledge concerning these phenomena is analytical insight into meaning. By whatever expression there is the designation of those phenomena... There is knowledge in the expression of Dhamma's terms, the analytical knowledge of language. By which knowledge one knows those knowledges: "These knowledges illuminate this meaning." Knowledge about knowledges is the analytical knowledge of ready wit. 746. Four analytical knowledges: analytical knowledge of meaning, analytical knowledge of Dhamma, analytical knowledge of language, analytical knowledge of ready wit. Three analytical knowledges arise from wholesome sense-sphere (kamma) in the four consciousness-arising associated with knowledge, and from functional (kamma) in the four consciousness-arising associated with knowledge. The three analytical knowledges are neither of a trainee nor of one beyond training; The analytical knowledge of meaning may be of a trainee, may be of one beyond training, may be neither of a trainee nor of one beyond training. The three analytical knowledges are limited; The analytical knowledge of meaning may be limited, may be immeasurable. The analytical knowledge of language is of a limited object; The three analytical knowledges may be of a limited object, may be of an exalted object, may be of an immeasurable object. The three analytical knowledges are medium; The analytical knowledge of meaning may be medium, may be excellent. The three analytical knowledges are undetermined; The analytical knowledge of meaning may be fixed as right, may be undetermined. The analytical knowledge of language is not to be said as having the path as object, or having the path as cause, or having the path as dominant factor; The analytical knowledge of meaning is not having the path as object, may be having the path as cause, may be having the path as dominant factor, may be not to be said as having the path as cause, or having the path as dominant factor; The two analytical knowledges may be having the path as object, not having the path as cause, may be having the path as dominant factor, may be not to be said as having the path as object, or having the path as dominant factor. Not fetters… not ties… not floods… not yokes… not hindrances… not attachments… With object. Not mind, mental concomitants, associated with mind, conjoined with mind, arisen from mind, co-existent with mind, following the mind.
