the element of body-consciousness related to that – this is the mind at that time. 449. What is happiness at that time? That which at that time is bodily pleasantness, bodily pleasure, pleasant and pleasurable feeling born of body-contact, pleasant and pleasurable sensation born of body-contact – this is happiness at that time. 450. What is one-pointedness of mind at that time? That which at that time is stability of mind – this is one-pointedness of mind at that time. 451. What is the mind-faculty at that time? That which at that time is mind, mind, mentality, heart, the pure, mind, the mind-base, the mind-faculty, consciousness, the consciousness-aggregate, the element of body-consciousness related to that – this is the mind-faculty at that time. 452. What is the faculty of pleasure at that time? That which at that time is bodily pleasantness, bodily pleasure, pleasant and pleasurable feeling born of body-contact, pleasant and pleasurable sensation born of body-contact – this is the faculty of pleasure at that time. 453. What is the faculty of life at that time? That which of those formless phenomena is life, continuance, carrying on, maintaining, going on, functioning, preserving, life, the life-faculty – this is the faculty of life at that time; or whatever other dependently arisen formless phenomena there are at that time – these phenomena are indeterminate. And at that time there are four aggregates, there are two bases, there are two elements, there are three nutriments, there are three faculties, there is one contact… there is one element of body-consciousness, there is one mind-object base, there is one mind-object element; or whatever other dependently arisen formless phenomena there are at that time – these phenomena are indeterminate… 454. What is the aggregate of formations at that time? Contact, volition, one-pointedness of mind, the life-faculty; or whatever other dependently arisen formless phenomena there are at that time... Excluding the aggregate of feeling, setting aside the aggregate of perception, setting aside the aggregate of consciousness – this, at that time, is the aggregate of volitional formations. These phenomena are indeterminate. Wholesome resultant five consciousnesses. Wholesome resultant mind-element. 455. Which phenomena are indeterminate? At the time when, due to the doing and accumulating of wholesome kamma in the sense-sphere, a resultant mind-element has arisen, accompanied by equanimity, having a visible form as its object, or... or a tangible object as its object, or whatever else it takes as its object, at that time there is contact, there is feeling, there is perception, there is volition, there is consciousness, there is initial application, there is sustained application, there is equanimity, there is one-pointedness of mind, there is the faculty of mind, there is the faculty of equanimity, there is the faculty of life; or whatever other formless phenomena are dependently arisen at that time – these phenomena are indeterminate. 456. What is contact at that time? That which at that time is contact, impingement, full impingement, the state of having fully impinged – this, at that time, is contact. 457. What is feeling at that time? That which at that time is a mental state born of contact with that mind-element, neither pleasant nor unpleasant, a feeling born of mental contact that is neither painful nor pleasant, a feeling born of mental contact that is neither painful nor pleasant – this, at that time, is feeling. 458. What is perception at that time? That which at that time is perception born of contact with that mind-element, perceiving, the state of having perceived – this, at that time, is perception. 459. What is volition at that time? That which at that time is volition born of contact with that mind-element, intending, the state of having intended – this, at that time, is volition. 460. What is consciousness at that time? That which at that time is consciousness, mind, mentality, heart, intellect, mind-base, mind-faculty, cognition, the aggregate of consciousness, that mind-element – this, at that time, is consciousness. 461. What is initial application at that time? That which at that At that time, reasoning, initial application, intention, fixing, thorough fixing, the placing of mind upon – this is initial application at that time. 462. What is sustained application at that time? That which at that time is moving, sustained application, repeated application, close application, continuous application of mind, close observation – this is sustained application at that time. 463. What is equanimity at that time? That which at that time is mental, neither pleasant nor unpleasant, feeling born of mental contact, neither painful nor pleasant, feeling born of mental contact, neither painful nor pleasant – this is equanimity at that time. 464. What is one-pointedness of mind at that time? That which at that time is the stability of mind – this is one-pointedness of mind at that time. 465. What is the faculty of mind at that time? That which at that time is mind, thought, mentality, heart, intellect, mind, mind-base, mind-faculty, consciousness, aggregate of consciousness, the mind-element related to it – this is the faculty of mind at that time. 466. What is the faculty of equanimity at that time? That which at that time is mental, neither pleasant nor unpleasant, feeling born of mental contact, neither painful nor pleasant, feeling born of mental contact, neither painful nor pleasant – this is the faculty of equanimity at that time. 467. What is the faculty of life at that time? That which is the life, stability, carrying on, maintenance, moving, continuing, protecting, life, life-faculty of those formless phenomena – this is the faculty of life at that time; and whatever other formless phenomena exist at that time, arisen dependently – these phenomena are indeterminate. And indeed at that time there are four aggregates, there are two bases, there are two elements, there are three nutriments, there are three faculties, there is one contact…etc.… there is one mind-element, there is one phenomena-base, there is one phenomena-element; and whatever other formless phenomena exist at that time, arisen dependently – these phenomena are indeterminate. ... 468. What is the aggregate of formations at that time? Contact, volition, initial application, sustained application, one-pointedness of mind, life faculty; or whatever other formless phenomena there are at that time, dependently arisen, excluding the aggregate of feeling, excluding the aggregate of perception, excluding the aggregate of consciousness – this is the aggregate of formations at that time... these phenomena are indeterminate. Mind-element, result of wholesome kamma. Mind-consciousness element, result of wholesome kamma, accompanied by joy. 469. Which phenomena are indeterminate? At the time when, due to the doing and accumulation of wholesome kamma of the sense-sphere, a resultant mind-consciousness element arises, accompanied by joy, having a visible object... or so on... or a mental object, or whatever it takes as its object, at that time there is contact, there is feeling, there is perception, there is volition, there is mind, there is initial application, there is sustained application, there is rapture, there is happiness, there is one-pointedness of mind, there is the mind faculty, there is the faculty of joy, there is the life faculty; or whatever other formless phenomena there are at that time, dependently arisen – these phenomena are indeterminate. 470. What is contact at that time? That which at that time is contact, touching, complete touching, the state of having completely touched – this is contact at that time. 471. What is feeling at that time? That which at that time is mental pleasantness born of the contact of that mind-consciousness element, mental happiness, pleasantness and happiness born of mind-contact, the felt experience, pleasant and happy feeling born of mind-contact – this is feeling at that time. 472. What is perception at that time? That which at that time is perception born of the contact of that mind-consciousness element, perceiving, the state of having perceived – this is perception at that time. 473. What is volition at that time? That which at that time is volition born of the contact of that mind-consciousness element, intending, the state of having intended – this is volition at that time. 474. What is What is mind at that time? That which at that time is mind, thought, mentality, heart, intellect, mind, mind-base, mind-faculty, consciousness, consciousness-aggregate, the mind-consciousness element pertaining thereto— this is mind at that time. 475. What is initial application at that time? That which at that time is thinking, initial application, intention, fixing, re-fixing, the placing of the mind— this is initial application at that time. 476. What is sustained application at that time? That which at that time is movement, sustained application, repeated application, close application, the following up of the mind, the observing of it— this is sustained application at that time. 477. What is rapture at that time? That which at that time is rapture, joy, delight, gladness, laughter, great laughter, satisfaction, elation, mental pleasure— this is rapture at that time. 478. What is happiness at that time? That which at that time is mental pleasantness, mental happiness, pleasantness born of mental contact, happiness felt, pleasant and happy feeling born of mental contact— this is happiness at that time. 479. What is one-pointedness of mind at that time? That which at that time is the stability of mind— this is one-pointedness of mind at that time. 480. What is the mind-faculty at that time?
