‘‘‘As far as the analytical knowledge of Dhamma, in the sense of analytical knowledge of Dhamma... and so on... as far as the analytical knowledge of language, in the sense of analytical knowledge of language... and so on... as far as the analytical knowledge of ready wit, in the sense of analytical knowledge of ready wit, is known, seen, understood, realized, touched by wisdom. There is no sense of analytical knowledge of ready wit not touched by wisdom’ – the eye arose... and so on... light arose.’’ In the sense of analytical knowledge of ready wit, five Twenty-four dhammas, twenty-five meanings, fifty expressions, a hundred knowledges. In the four analytical knowledges: a hundred dhammas, a hundred meanings, two hundred expressions, four hundred knowledges. 9. Chapter on the Six Buddha-Dhammas 38. “‘As far as the knowledge of the dispositions of the faculties, it is known, seen, understood, realized, touched by wisdom. There is no knowledge of the dispositions of the faculties that is not touched by wisdom.’ Thus, the eye arose... ...light arose.” In the knowledge of the dispositions of the faculties: twenty-five dhammas, twenty-five meanings, fifty expressions, a hundred knowledges. “‘As far as the knowledge of the inclinations and latent tendencies of beings... ...as far as the knowledge of the Twin Miracle... ...as far as the knowledge of the attainment of great compassion... ...as far as the knowledge of omniscience... ...as far as the knowledge of unimpededness, it is known, seen, understood, realized, touched by wisdom. There is no knowledge of unimpededness that is not touched by wisdom.’ Thus, the eye arose, knowledge arose, wisdom arose, vision arose, light arose.” In the knowledge of unimpededness: twenty-five dhammas, twenty-five meanings, fifty expressions, a hundred knowledges. In the six Buddha-dharmas: one hundred and fifty dhammas, one hundred and fifty meanings, three hundred expressions, six hundred knowledges. In the section on Analytical Knowledges: eight hundred and fifty dhammas, eight hundred and fifty meanings, one thousand seven hundred expressions, three thousand knowledges, and four hundred knowledges. The discourse on Analytical Knowledges is concluded. 7. Discourse on the Wheel of Dhamma 1. Chapter on Truths 39. At one time the Blessed One was dwelling in Bārāṇasī... ...Thus, for the venerable Koṇḍañña, the name "Aññāsikoṇḍañña" (Koṇḍañña who has understood) came to be. [A] “‘This is the noble truth of suffering’” – concerning dhammas unheard before, the eye arose, knowledge arose, wisdom arose, vision arose, light arose. The eye arose Arose - in what sense? The eye arose - in what sense? Knowledge arose - in what sense? Wisdom arose - in what sense? True knowledge arose - in what sense? Light arose - in what sense? The eye arose - in the sense of seeing. Knowledge arose - in the sense of knowing. Wisdom arose - in the sense of understanding. True knowledge arose - in the sense of penetration. Light arose - in the sense of illumination. The eye is a phenomenon, seeing is its meaning. Knowledge is a phenomenon, knowing is its meaning. Wisdom is a phenomenon, understanding is its meaning. True knowledge is a phenomenon, penetration is its meaning. Light is a phenomenon, illumination is its meaning. These five phenomena, five meanings, have suffering as their basis, have truth as their basis, have truth as their object, have truth as their domain, are comprised of truth, are included in truth, have arisen in truth, stand in truth, are established in truth. 40. The Wheel of Dhamma - in what sense is it the Wheel of Dhamma? It sets the Dhamma in motion and it is a wheel - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. It sets the wheel in motion and it is Dhamma - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. It sets in motion by means of Dhamma - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. It sets in motion by means of righteous conduct - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Standing in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Established in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Establishing in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Having attained mastery in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Attaining mastery in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Having attained perfection in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Attaining perfection in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Having attained confidence in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Attaining confidence in Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Honoring the Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Respecting the Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Esteeming the Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Worshipping the Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Reverencing the Dhamma, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. With the Dhamma as its banner, it sets in motion - thus, the Wheel of Dhamma. Dhamma as its emblem It rolls forth – the Wheel of Dhamma. With Dhamma as its master, it rolls forth – the Wheel of Dhamma. And indeed that Wheel of Dhamma cannot be turned back By a recluse or by a brahmin, By a god or by Māra, By Brahmā or by anyone else in the world – The Wheel of Dhamma. The faculty of faith is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The faculty of energy is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The faculty of mindfulness is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The faculty of concentration is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The faculty of wisdom is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The power of faith is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The power of energy is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The power of mindfulness is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The power of concentration is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The power of wisdom is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of mindfulness is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of investigation of Dhamma is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of energy is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of rapture is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of tranquility is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of concentration is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. The enlightenment factor of equanimity is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right View is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Intention is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Speech is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Action is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Livelihood is Dhamma. That Dhamma sets in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Effort Yes, it is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Mindfulness is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. Right Concentration is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As a governing power, the faculty is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As unshakeable, strength is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As leading out, the enlightenment factor is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As a cause, the path is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As establishing mindfulness, the foundations of mindfulness are the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As striving, the right exertions are the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As succeeding, the bases of power are the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As suchness, the truths are the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As non-distraction, tranquility is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As contemplation, insight is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As a single taste, tranquility and insight are the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As non-transgression, the paired practice is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As restraint, purity of conduct is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As non-distraction, purity of mind is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As seeing, purity of view is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As being freed, liberation is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As penetration, true knowledge is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As relinquishment, deliverance is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As cutting off, the knowledge of destruction is the Dhamma. That Dhamma, when set in motion – is the Wheel of Dhamma. As calming, in non-arising Knowledge is the Dhamma. It sets that Dhamma in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Desire is the Dhamma in the sense of its root. It sets that Dhamma in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Attention is the Dhamma in the sense of its arising. It sets that Dhamma in motion – the Wheel of Dhamma. Contact is the Dhamma in the sense of its conjunction.
