This work, entitled 'Northern Treasure Iron Tree Ritual Combined Practice: Nectar of Immortality, Excellent Vase,' is written in pure ancient Tibetan. At the urging of Lobsang Pema Trinle Thegchok Wang gi Gyalpo Yongdu De, the incarnation of the great revealer of the Nyingma tradition, the Northern Treasure Terton Ngagi Wangpo, although a follower of the tradition of the great Tsongkhapa (founder of the Gelug school), through the kindness of many holy beings such as Gyalwa Dorje Chang (Vajradhara) Khonton Chokyi Gyalpo, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso Jigme Gocha Thubten Langtso De, a Zahor bhikshu with some understanding of the various non-sectarian doctrines, composed this work. It is adorned with the practices of the lineage holders and supplements the unclear parts of the original terma text. Written at Ganden Phodrang (the Dalai Lama's residence), the scribe was Ngawang Gelek.
