The six sons of the king conquered Magadha and obtained six cities. Upon hearing that Ashoka ascended the throne on that day, he led a retinue of five hundred ministers to the north bank of the Ganges, including five cities such as Rajagriha, and the sixth was the city of Anga. In these six cities, each of the king's sons ruled. Among them, the first son of the king believed in the secret mantras of the vast world. The second believed in the Great Lord. The third in Vishnu. The fourth in the ultimate secret of the Vedas. The fifth in the naked gold-possessor. The sixth believed in the celibacy of a Brahmin named the son of Kusha. They also established their own bases. Ashoka, relying on the words of the female celestial beings of the Bhrigu lineage and the demon-worshipping devotees, regarded the goddess Uma, including the cemetery mother, as a deity. After that, he indulged in pleasures for several years and was known as Kama Ashoka, the Ashoka of desire. Later, he became discordant with his brothers and fought for many years, eventually killing six brothers and five hundred ministers. In addition, he destroyed many cities and ruled all the regions between the snowy mountains and the mountain piercer. He became extremely angry and cruel, and could not calm down without carrying out punitive actions, and would not even eat. The first thing he did every day was to order punitive actions such as killing, imprisoning, and beating, and only then could he calm down and begin to eat. Therefore, there are many stories about the king's army, but they are not told because they are not necessary. The auspicious lord said that although some rumors from India were heard, they were not written here either. At that time, encouraged by heretical Brahmins, he devoted himself to blood sacrifices. In particular, a sage of the Bhrigu lineage named Bull-Ear believed that if a sacrifice was performed in which ten thousand people were killed, it would expand the kingdom and become a cause for liberation. Therefore, he built a house for sacrifice and prepared to kill ten thousand people.

Although searching everywhere for someone capable of doing this, they couldn't find one for a while. Eventually, they found a Chandala caste person from Tirahatti. They sent all those who deserved to be killed to that house, and before reaching ten thousand, they killed everyone who appeared there. This was a vow not to offer to the inverted asceticism. The king himself promised. When a thousand or two thousand people were killed in this way, the executioner wandered outside the city. A monk, hoping to prevent his actions, spoke of various sins of killing and the suffering of hell, but without awakening the roots of virtue, the executioner thought: 'Before, people were killed by beheading, but now, from what I hear from this monk's words, I can kill them by burning, cutting, skinning, and so on.' Killing many in this way, they killed about five thousand people in the sacrificial house. At that time, the previous name changed, and he became known as Chandala Ashoka, the Cruel Ashoka. At that time, a disciple of Arhat Grakpa, a well-learned monk who was established in the realization of the path of application, arrived at the sacrificial house without knowing the way. When the executioner began to strike with his sword, he asked the reason. The executioner also told the previous story. He said, 'Then kill me after seven days. Until then, I will not go anywhere else, but will stay in this sacrificial house.' The executioner also said it was okay. He also realized the sixteen aspects of truth, such as impermanence, because he saw that the sacrificial place was filled with flesh, blood, bones, and entrails. Before the seven days, he also attained Arhatship and accomplished miraculous powers. On the day the seven days passed, because such attire had never appeared in this house before, he said that he would use a method of killing that had never been done before, filling a large copper pot with sesame oil, putting the monk inside, and setting it on fire. Although it burned day and night, his body was not harmed in the slightest. When it was reported to the king, the king was amazed and came to the sacrificial house. There, when the executioner ran out with a sword, the king asked the reason. He said, 'This is the king'

He himself had vowed, saying: "Until one million people have arrived, whoever comes to this house shall be killed." The king said: "Then I came here before you, so I should be killed first." When the two of them began to fight, that monk displayed miracles such as raining, rivers flowing, and walking in the sky, causing both the king and the executioner to have even greater faith. They prostrated at his feet, and the seeds of bodhicitta were awakened. Then, he taught the Dharma, and the king deeply regretted his sinful deeds, and immediately demolished the sacrificial house. To purify his sins, he requested the monk to stay. The monk said: "I cannot show you how to purify your sins, but in the eastern Crow Monastery, there lives an abbot, an Arhat named Grakpa Gyaltsen, who will be able to help you, O king, to purify your sins." According to this prophecy, the king also sent a message to the Arhat, saying: "Holy one, please come to Pataliputra (present-day Patna, India) and help me purify my sins. If the Holy One does not come here, I will go there." Knowing that if the king went there, it would harm many people, the Arhat Grakpa himself went to Pataliputra (present-day Patna, India). Every day he taught the Dharma to the king, and every night he went to the monastery to impart teachings to the fourfold assembly. From the time he met the Arhat Grakpa onwards, the king became very devout, spending his days and nights only in virtuous deeds, and offering to thirty-three thousand monks every day. During that time, Arhat Grakpa was residing in other places such as Magadha. The king sent about five hundred merchants to the Jewel Island to collect jewels, and they also built excellent ships, filled them with various precious jewels, and returned. When they were resting on the seashore, the nagas sent waves, carrying all the goods into the sea. Then, they relied on other livelihoods and gradually returned. It is said that in seven days, the merchants would arrive in Pataliputra (present-day Patna, India), and how they became like this

Because they had not heard these words, Brahmins and, wanderers and, countless crowds gathered together, (saying) what are the colors and wonderful qualities of the jewels, that will be seen, thus on the seventh day, the king and the crowd went to the garden together, those merchants came only with their upper garments, very pitifully. It was very inappropriate, laughter was made, and the crowds dispersed. The king asked the reason, and the merchants told the story. Gods, if you do not subdue the dragons again, no one will be willing to take jewels in the future, please gods think of a way, thus they urged. There the king understood, and asked the wise men for a method, but the Brahmins and, wanderers, etc. did not know. There, an Arhat with six superknowledges thought, the gods will also tell that method. If the Arhat himself says it, they will think that this person is biased towards monks, and the king will also hesitate, and the heretics will also gossip, thinking thus, Great King, there is a method, but, tonight the house god will tell it. Thus he said. Then at dawn, the god dwelling in the sky of the house said, King, make great offerings to the Buddha, and the dragons will be subdued. Then the god dwelling on the earth said, King, make offerings to the Sangha of Arhats, and they will be subdued, thus he said. The next day, all the crowds were gathered, and the prophecy of the gods was told, what should be done, the ministers said, ask the Arhat who prophesied yesterday, thus they said. So he was invited and asked, he said, a method of belief should be used, King Ashoka's command, dragons listen, thus and so on connecting, the jewels taken by the merchants, give them back to the merchants again, write this on a copper plate, and throw it into the Ganges. At the great crossroads of the city road, at the top of a very high stone pillar, in a container of Aṣṭadhātu (藏文ཨཥྚ་དྷཱ་ཏུ,梵文天城体:अष्टधातु,梵文罗马拟音:aṣṭadhātu,汉语字面意思:八 धातु), place one image each of the king and the dragon made of gold.
