Not having seen (reliable records), I have only written here some of the ways that can be trusted. The histories up to King Rāmapāla, I have seen a work composed by the Paṇḍita Sa Wang Zangpo of Magadha, with a length of two thousand ślokas. I have also heard from some Lama Paṇḍitas. Here, based on that, there is also a work called Buddhapurāṇa blessed by the royal family's Paṇḍita Wangpo, which contains the complete story up to the fourth Sena dynasty king, with a length of one thousand two hundred verses. In addition, the biography of the lineage of teachers by the Brahmin Paṇḍita Bhaṭāghaṭi, with a length similar to the previous one, I have also supplemented well from these two books. The chronological arrangements of each, except for minor details, are mostly consistent among the three. Those also seem to mainly describe how the Dharma arose in the kingdoms under the sun, but as for how Kashmir, Uḍḍiyāna, Tokharistan, the South, Koki, and the various islands evolved, because I have not seen detailed texts, nor have I heard of them, I have been unable to write. The scattered stories of later times, although there were no written records before, are trustworthy as they come from oral tradition. I have also recorded the contents that appear in the Garland of Stories. Thus, this rare jewel of stories, strung together with the thread of easy-to-understand words, is woven into a garland of harmony and bliss to adorn the necks of the wise. For those holy beings who have contributed to the cause of the Buddha's teachings, may faith greatly increase, and may the distinction between whether scriptures have a basis or not be known, this is the necessity of this book. May faith in the sacred Dharma also increase, and may the good deeds of those learned and accomplished Dharma holders be clearly understood, this is also the necessity of this book. Having faith in the path and the individuals, and entering their respective Dharma, ultimately attaining Buddhahood, this is said to be the main purpose. May all sentient beings, through this merit, enter into this virtuous conduct, attain the state of unsurpassed Buddhahood, and be adorned with all qualities. The source of auspiciousness, to clearly show how the precious and sacred Dharma flourished in the noble land, is called "The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel."

This was composed by Gyal Kham Pa Ta Ra Na Tha at the age of thirty-four, in the Earth Monkey year (1608) on a Thursday, in the Dharma Palace of Drakto (Brag stod), prompted by some requests and also seeing its benefit to others. May the precious doctrine spread and flourish in all directions and remain for a long time! Like the source of the four noble ones, the victorious mother Prajnaparamita. The manner in which the sacred Dharma arose in the noble land of India. Like the pure words of the oral transmission of the noble ones and scholars. This was composed as if perceived directly by noble wisdom. Although it is worthy for those who desire liberation to listen with one mind. However, like a treasure beneath the earth, only the name is seen. Jamyang Lama opened the door of wisdom and compassion. Like bestowing nectar, he showered a new and excellent rain of wishes. (《ཛཾ》(Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning)+ The root of benefit and happiness for all beings is unparalleled, this is the great temple of all Buddhas. Please, protector, remain for hundreds of kalpas, and look upon us sentient beings with compassion. The second Buddha, the emanation of the omniscient Jonangpa, the venerable Yonten Sangpo, in the year 1995, in order to increase the un衰ing of the teachings, the woodblock print of the complete works of the omniscient Ta Ra Na Tha in the great Dharma school of Dzamthang Tsang, with the merit of this construction, may all beings who have not attained enlightenment attain complete enlightenment. May auspiciousness and glory adorn the world.) Sarva Mangalam. Auspicious! The story called "A Talk Like a Source of Jewels: The Wonderful and Marvelous Biography of the Seven-Fold Transmission." Om Svasti! Homage to the Guru! The story called "A Talk Like a Source of Jewels: The Wonderful and Marvelous Biography of the Seven-Fold Transmission." I prostrate to the feet of the holy Lama. To all the assemblies of root and lineage Lamas who illuminate the path of Vajradhara for all beings, I repeatedly prostrate with respectful mind, and briefly describe the manner of their deeds. The accomplished being is only one, and even his wondrous deeds are endowed with miraculous tongues, so it is impossible to describe them in hundreds of kalpas, but I will write according to the words of the Lamas. Here, before our holy Lama, named Sangye Sabpa's Protector, the intention and speech of all Buddhas of the three times are beyond...

Because he has the power to enter the ocean moment by moment, it is impossible to measure how much the holy Dharma teachings he possesses. However, your root guru, the great accomplished master Peaceful One, is said to have the seven blessings of empowerment. And you have also listened well to all of those instructions. Among them, the first empowerment is the essential instruction of Mahamudra. That is, the great teacher named Brahmin Rahula was born in Oddiyana. His caste was Brahmin. From a young age, he became proficient in all eighteen branches of knowledge, including the Vedas and their branches, and the eight kinds of reasoning. He was teaching five hundred Brahmin children to recite secret mantras. At that time, Vajrayogini came in the form of a wine seller and repeatedly bestowed upon the teacher the nectar of true wisdom, which appeared to be intoxicating. When he drank it without discrimination, he attained supreme samadhi within. However, the bad reputation of defiling the Brahmin caste arose. Therefore, the Brahmins wanted to degrade him. The teacher, having gained power through the strength of inner yoga, performed the act of vomiting wine on the Brahmins. He threw a large stone into the ocean and said, "If I have drunk wine, let this stone sink; if you have drunk it and I have not, let it float." As a result, the stone floated on the water. Then the Brahmins, subdued by his power, went to the central region and became ordained as Buddhists. Gradually, he became the most excellent Bhikshu of the three pitakas. The Khenpo of this teacher was Sthavira Krishna. His Khenpo was Bhikshu Asvaghosa. His Khenpo was Nera Gupta, although the Lama said so, these old Khenpo lineages are difficult to verify. In the Tibetan Vinaya lineage, it is said that he was a direct disciple of Rahula, but it is best to leave it without investigation. After that, he became the Khenpo of Nalanda Monastery. He extensively engaged in the activities of propagating the Dharma. It is said that the great flourishing of the Mahayana Sutra tradition also occurred during the time of this teacher. After that, the practice of wisdom and forceful power

Considering the benefit of beings, he (Saraha) remained steadfast in the samadhi of no characteristics, wandering in various places. Eventually, in the southern region called Marahaṭa, he saw a field yogini who would liberate his own lineage, a daughter of an archer. Through her actions of adjusting arrows, etc., she revealed the meaning of reality in a symbolic way. As if introduced, he directly realized the nature of reality. He took that archer's daughter as his consort, enjoyed her in various places, and engaged in the work of making arrows. His wisdom grew more and more, so he was called Ya Saraha, meaning "arrow shot." Previously, he had been the Sthavira (Elder) of all the Sangha, so he was very famous. Countless beings, including kings, came to see and mock him. Like the teacher adjusting the arrow, he said, "Hey, I am a Brahmin, enjoying myself with a drinking woman. I do not see the difference between caste and non-caste. A monk with a shaved head, holding ascetic practices, walks together with his wife. There is no distinction between attachment and non-attachment. This impurity is conceptual thought; others do not understand this principle. For beings like venomous snakes," etc. He sang many Doha Vajra songs. As a result, five thousand people, including the king, directly realized the meaning of reality, and their bodies also became Vidyadharas (knowledge holders). They walked in the sky with miraculous powers and eventually disappeared. Furthermore, through the Mahamudra symbolizing the nature of mind, hundreds and thousands of realized beings appeared, and their fame spread in all directions. It is said that after benefiting many beings, he went to other Buddha-fields with that very body. This is done according to the Tibetan tradition. Later, in a scattered Chinese manuscript of the Buddha Topa Sutra, there was no part about ordination in the middle, and it seemed to consider the Brahmin Rahula and the Sthavira Rahula as different. The Minyak translator also seemed to think so, but there is no reason why that view is unreasonable. His disciple was the teacher Nagarjuna, who was born in the southern Vidarbha, and his caste was Brahmin. At his birth, the diviners held a feast for one hundred monks, one hundred Brahmins, and one hundred ordinary people.
