That which accomplishes. May auspiciousness bring happiness and well-being here and now! May there be happiness and well-being here day and night! Etc. Thus, speak of whatever is appropriate, such as accomplishing things. Note: Therefore, the seventh offering plate was not sent out. As it says in the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel: "The union of skillful means and wisdom is extremely precious! Taking appearances as the path is even more precious!" Therefore, all of the above practices must also be practiced through the gateway of possessing the six perfections. That is, without attachment to body and life, dedicating all of samsara and nirvana as a vast offering of generosity is generosity. Not mixing with non-virtue and other sins is morality. Having no miserliness and enduring suffering is patience. Not being distracted and doing it single-pointedly is meditation. These four are the practice of skillful means. Diligence is the friend that quickly accomplishes both skillful means and wisdom. Wisdom is knowing that the one making the offering, myself; the objects of offering, such as the body; the recipients of the offering, the four guests, and so on, are all like illusions, without inherent existence. Without hope, one cuts off the Buddhas. Without doubt, one cuts off samsara. Without fear, one cuts off demons and spirits. Without hesitation, one cuts off diseases and plagues. Without anything to cut off, one cuts off everything. Thus it is said. The details will be explained below in the section on the essential points of the general collection. These practices above should be done in a terrifying place, with six sessions of practice in one night. That is, the three sessions during the day are: one when the sun first rises on the mountaintop, two at true midday, and three when the great shadow gathers. The three sessions at night are: one when the stars appear in the evening sky, two at true midnight, and three at dawn when the stars scatter. If it is not a terrifying place, one session of cutting practice each night is sufficient. During the session times, the practice of giving and taking is as follows: May all the sins and sufferings of all sentient beings ripen upon me! May all of my happiness be obtained by all sentient beings! By saying this, think that sins and sufferings truly ripen upon oneself and that others truly obtain happiness, thereby being separated from all sins and sufferings and attaining Buddhahood. As it says in the Great Vehicle Mind Training: "Give and take should be practiced alternately. Thereby purify the faults of the winds. Three realms, three poisons, three virtues."
