I hold the Buddha's enlightenment in mind. I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Supreme Assembly, until enlightenment. In order to perfectly accomplish the benefit of both self and others, I generate the Bodhicitta. Having generated the supreme Bodhicitta, I will treat all sentient beings as guests. I will practice the supreme and pleasing Bodhisattva conduct. For the benefit of beings, may I attain Buddhahood! Recite this three times. Then, thinking of taking the vows of the uncommon five families, therefore. (Recite) May the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Mandala deities heed my words. From this time onwards, until the essence of enlightenment, just as the protectors of the three times, are determined in enlightenment, the unsurpassed Bodhicitta, I will generate. The training of discipline, and accumulating virtuous dharmas, and the three disciplines that benefit sentient beings, I will firmly uphold. The Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, are the unsurpassed Three Jewels. The vows arising from the Buddha's yoga, from now on, I will firmly uphold.
