At one time, I heard that the Bhagavan, the Manifest Perfect King, was dwelling in a great charnel ground, a place where all the Dakinis gather. The assembly of Dakinis was inconceivable and inexpressible, and the assembly of glorious Herukas was subduing all the violent ones. In all those places, various kinds of light rays shone in the ten directions, and various kinds of charnel ground birds emitted pleasant sounds, and all the ornaments of the charnel ground also emitted their own pleasant sounds, and they enjoyed one hundred and eight hearts and one hundred and eight bloods, and so on. At that time, a great sound arose in the sky, saying, "All the realms of the world are very miserable!" From within that, a sound arose saying, "The teachings of the Buddhas of the three realms will be destroyed!" Then the glorious Heruka entered into the samadhi called "Experiencing the Suffering of All Sentient Beings of the Three Realms." While dwelling in that samadhi, he saw that all the sentient beings of the three realms were being harmed by Palala. The great Matrika named Palala, in her time as a sentient being, had not exhausted her negative karma. In that time, she committed the act of killing all living beings. As a result of the ripening, she was born in the hell realms. Having escaped from that, she was born in the realm of Yama, and having taken up her previous karma, she again became one who killed sentient beings. Seeing that she was killing all the sentient beings of the three realms, he emitted four kinds of light rays from the center of his forehead. From those light rays, he rained down a great rain of weapons upon those four heart-eating mothers. Again, he became wrathful and destroyed all the realms of the world. From the heart of the great glorious Heruka, he emitted four kinds of light rays. From the light ray of the east, arose the white King of Existence, and an inconceivable and inexpressible assembly of those who attract thieves, possessing three heads, four legs, and twelve arms, completely made of meat.

From the rays of the southern direction, appeared the One who possesses the life force of all sentient beings, named Ekajati (One Braid Mother), who has three slanting eyes in the middle of her forehead, and whose color is bluish-purple. Her retinue includes the blue mothers, the summoning mothers, and the binding mothers, and so on, which are inconceivable and cannot be expressed in words. From the rays of the western direction, appeared the goddess Remati, with a single braid of hair standing upright, pervading the three thousand worlds. With one eye, she sees the three thousand worlds; with one tooth, she cuts the root of birth and death of all sentient beings; with one wing, she stirs up the entire three thousand worlds; with one foot, she travels pervading all three realms; with one breast, she nourishes the infants of all sentient beings. Her retinue includes the assembly of red mothers, the assembly of summoning mothers, and the assembly of binding mothers, which are inconceivable and cannot be expressed in words. From the rays of the northern direction, appeared the mistress who controls all the senses. In an instant, she runs everywhere, and all, including the eyes, exist without obstruction. Her retinue includes the assembly of yellow mothers, the summoning mothers, and the subduing mothers, which are inconceivable and cannot be expressed in words. Thus, having appeared, the glorious Blood-Drinker, together with his retinue. Those destroying mothers, from faith, all those white mothers, controlled the breath of those destroying mothers. Those stealing mothers, gathered the winds into their power. The summoning mothers stirred them up and threw them under the feet of the Great Glorious One. The Great Glorious Blood-Drinker ignited a great fire from the four directions, and with six hands tormented them with weapons, pleading for the compassionate mistress to release them. We, also, in the past, in the time of sentient beings, sought the excrement heart of the charnel ground, the heart of a bird, the heart of a blind dog, and the hearts of a hundred sheep as food, and thus delighted in life. Due to the ripening of that karma, we also experienced the suffering of the hells of sentient beings. Like this, are you still going to kill? Release us! Thus they spoke. The glorious Blood-Drinker uttered a fierce "Haha" sound, causing them to faint. Having awakened from their faint, the retinue became the servants of the glorious Blood-Drinker, and also wished to offer the essence of their lives.
