The Tantra of the Secret Essence of Vajrasattva Mahākāśa Samantabhadra. In Sanskrit: Vajrasattva Khāsa Mahāsamanta Bhadra Guhyagarbha Tantra. In Tibetan: Vajrasattva Great Space, Samantabhadra Secret Essence Tantra. Homage to the Bhagavan, glorious Samantabhadra. Thus have I heard, at one time, the Bhagavan Tathagata, the perfectly complete Buddha Bhagavan, the essence of the body, speech, and mind vajra of all the Tathagatas of the ten directions and four times. Undifferentiated from all Buddhas without exception, the great compassion, the source of bliss, the perfectly enjoying jewel, is great compassion. The great heart of the Sugatas, of the unsurpassed path of non-abiding varieties, transformed into the Akaniṣṭha palace, boundless and without center, vast in all directions. Square with four wisdom protuberances, possessing four doors, inconceivable outer and inner adornments. In the center, a lion and lotus, on a jeweled, blazing seat, the ultimate essence, the supreme swirls. The wheel of light, blazing with four spokes, is the supreme perfection that is extraordinary. Likewise, samadhi, samadhi. Like the mandala blazing. The three-two mandala is unsurpassed. Because the great compassion is blazing with light, the palace of many blades and razors is clear. Maturity, mind-holding, that itself is life. The determining crest jewel blazes. On enlightenment, space, and so forth. With the tip of the Bhagavan's tongue, this secret is proclaimed. This is the great secret, very certain. Because it abides in enlightenment, the Bhagavan abides in the nature of all beings. Even if you think of it perversely, liberation is self-born, not from another. This essence that cannot be sought, is not non-existent, but has the essence of vajra. It is not existent, but there is an essence of non-existence. The suffering of beings is the mind of enlightenment. Because it is universally enlightened, it is enjoyed. Although there is no movement in it, it abides equally like the limit of space. Then the Bhagavan Vajragarbha, having entered into samadhi, spoke this verse especially. Whoever abides in this limbless place, the vajra essence is the best of solidity. Possessing the mandala of vajra wisdom, not separating self and other's benefit, the realm of illusion spontaneously accomplished.

Plays within. Because the Dharmakaya is all-pervading, Being equal to all Buddhas, This mandala without any distinction, The supreme body possessing all aspects. From the Tantra of Great Bliss, the Secret Instructions. The chapter of the introduction, which is the first. Then again, the Bhagavan, having entered into the Samadhi of Primordial Liberation, spoke this special verse: The path of primordial liberation, In the mandala of reality itself, Through seeing, hearing, touching, and remembering, Liberated from all sins. This essence of Buddhahood's accomplishment, Is completely perfect without remainder. Unchanging, it abides upright, Easy and difficult, difficult because it is easy. Not manifest, it pervades everywhere, To point out and say, "This is manifest," Vajrasattva cannot be shown. The great bliss that abides spontaneously, With adornments, blazing, and so on, Cannot be measured or shown. Just by accomplishing this mudra, The Buddha's mandala will not be seen. All the names and categories without exception, Are the cause of bondage, obscurations of Bodhi. There is no Bodhi apart from Bodhi itself, Therefore, there is no Buddha or Dharma. Good and evil are liberated, There is no action, viewing, entering, and so on. Because there are no verbal terms, It transcends form and the meaning of wisdom. Self-born wisdom is not to be sought, Even the unsurpassed bliss arising from the union of appearance and desire, That is a great fault that obscures it. The bliss of the present and the bliss of the future, The bliss that is manifest and the bliss that arises from behind, That too is a fault of appearance, Therefore, one should not rely on it. Emaho! How utterly wonderful! From that which cannot be expressed in words, The gathering of Buddhas is utterly wonderful! The vehicle is like space, the expanse of view, The charnel ground is the supreme essence. Because Vajrasattva abides in bliss, Therefore, there is no need to rely on conceptual thoughts and time. It is free from the path of going and uniting, The meaning of what is, cannot be destroyed. There is no name of "view" or "essence," Nor has the name of space been obtained. Thus, thus, for that reason, In that, that is shown, and that is also obtained. That is the essence, therefore, From that, that arises, how utterly wonderful! The former that and the present that, Thus, that is great in that state. Thus, the path of that is similar, That is the nature of that. All that is similar to that
