. Progress gradually through empowerment. Samaya is like a crystal egg. The foundation is held by pure samaya. Samadhi is like the body and its shadow. Practice is taken up through samadhi. Instructions are like drinking liquor in a skull cup. The meaning is held by profound instructions. View is like a spear whirling in the sky. Limits and projections are cut through view. Conduct is like obtaining human flesh. Faults are abandoned through conduct. Union is without error. Without relying on words, realize. The three kayas' desires are gathered into one. The six extremes are perfected in the lineage. The ultimate meaning arises from within. Space is just like space. Everything abides in emptiness. Thus it was said. The unbroken lineage of empowerment: The four great rivers of empowerment in India and the four rivers of empowerment in Tibet. Among the four rivers of empowerment in India, those obtained through empowerment by the deity: Acharya Garab Dorje. Glorious Vajrasattva directly explained the five types of bodhicitta and so forth, and then empowered him. He empowered Vairochana of Tibet. He empowered Zhang Nyana. In Tibet, the gathering of the four rivers of empowerment: King Trisong Detsen. Acharya Padmasambhava and Acharya Vimalamitra and Pagor Vairochana, Nub Namkhai Nyingpo.
