The Victorious One, the Great Mass of Light, in the immeasurable palace of wisdom, together with the five families of Buddhas and the mandala of the mind, abided in the intent of clear light. Thus have I heard at one time. The Victorious One, Vajrasattva, in the realm of the enjoyment body, the mandala of compassion itself, abided in the intent of the inseparability of body and wisdom. At that time, the Lord of Secrets asked thus: O! O! Bhagavan, please speak about the intent of the inseparability of body and wisdom! The Bhagavan said: O Lord of Secrets, listen without distraction! I will explain the meaning of the inseparability of body and wisdom. O Lord of Secrets, the Buddha abides as the Dharmakaya, the wisdom body, and the wisdom light body, therefore there is no form of signs or body of signs. O Lord of Secrets, that the body of the Buddha has no form of signs, that is it. Listen without distraction! This empty, clear essence of one's own awareness, not established as any entity or sign, remaining empty and clear, this is Dharmata Samantabhadri. This emptiness of one's own awareness, not becoming a cut-off emptiness when it dawns, this clear and lucid knowing is Rigpa Samantabhadra. The essence of one's own awareness is emptiness, and one's own knowing is vivid, abiding inseparably and indivisibly, this is the Dharmakaya of the Buddha.

It is wisdom. From the aspect of one's own awareness being clear and empty, indivisible, it is the wisdom of equality. From the aspect of one's own awareness, the wisdom of present knowing being unceasing, it is the wisdom of discernment. From the aspect of one's own awareness being unobstructed, it is the wisdom of accomplishing activities. One's own awareness being clear, this is the body of the Buddha. One's own awareness being unceasing and vivid, this is the wisdom of the Dharma. The Buddha's body and wisdom abide inseparably. Alas, secret lord, recognizing that the essence of one's own awareness is clear as the Buddha, one's own awareness looking at itself, this is abiding in the intention of the Buddha. Thus it was said. In the tantra called "The Oral Instruction, the Heart's Intention, the Teaching of the Victorious Ones," the first chapter is the introduction to the inseparability of body and wisdom. Then again, the secret lord asked thus: Alas! Alas! Bhagavan, how do the Buddha's body and wisdom abide in oneself? The Bhagavan replied: Alas, secret lord, listen. In the center of the name of each and every sentient being, the Dharmadhatu wisdom, body color dark blue, abides. The mirror-like wisdom abides in white. The wisdom of equality abides in yellow. The wisdom of discernment abides in red. The wisdom of accomplishment abides in green. In the center of one's own heart, the grandfather of all Buddhas, the great mass of Buddha light, abides. Alas, secret lord, if one places one's own eye on the mirror of Vajrasattva and shows it, the unchanging body of Buddha light, extremely subtle and clear, bright and radiant, its nature dense and awe-inspiring, beautiful rays of light radiating, manifestly and vividly appearing. Alas, great Vajra Holder, in the center of one's own citta, from the sound of awareness Samantabhadra, Samantabhadra holding characteristics, body color white, abides. From the sound of Dharmata Samantabhadri, Samantabhadri holding characteristics, body color dark blue, abides. The bodies of the two, Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri, abide in the center of one's own heart. In the center, Vairochana, body color dark blue, abiding on a lion throne, holding in hand...
