Having gazed thus, all phenomena are the nature of enlightenment, the very nature of great emptiness. It is the Suchness beyond speech and thought. Thus, he remained in equipoise in that very Samadhi of Suchness. Then, the king Vajradhara arose from his seat and offered various clouds of outer and inner offerings to the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets. He prostrated hundreds of thousands of times and, while his mind rested in the realm of Dharma, he prayed thus: Emaho! Sugata Bhagavan! Emaho! Greatly delighted Lord of Secrets! Emaho! Path of perfect purity! Wonderful arising, I bow to you! The very meaning of all mandalas is the nature of Bodhicitta. Please explain it to us. Then, the Lord of Secrets spoke to Vajradhara: Vajradhara, listen! Keep it well in mind! This has not been spoken by all the Buddhas of the past, nor is it easy to speak of by the Buddhas of the present and future. Why is that? Because the nature of Bodhicitta, which is Suchness itself, is beyond expression, and those who can become vessels for it are rare. Vajradhara, therefore, you should ask. Having spoken thus, he remained silent. Then, all the Tathagatas, including the Wheel-Turner, exhorted Vajradhara: Great Vajradhara, you are the one authorized by the Tathagatas to ask questions, so please repeatedly ask the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets, to cut through all doubts. The Tathagatas teach the Dharma according to the capacity of the disciples, so please also bless the Bodhisattvas of lesser intelligence. Having been exhorted thus, the king Vajradhara understood the exhortation of the Buddhas of the four families, blessed the many retinues to become suitable vessels, and remained gazing at the face of the Teacher. Then, the king Vajrasattva, with offerings free from attachment, desirable qualities free from craving, pervading all like the sky, and emanated from the mind, offered to the Teacher and prayed thus: The ultimate nature of mind is unborn, the Teacher and the place
