From the three mothers, practice the samadhi of the first union. Then, the supreme mandala victor, upon that, the supreme action victor, is called the basic mandala. After completing the rituals, bring the great accomplishment to its ultimate conclusion. Thus it is said. Then again it is said, after the actions are completed, one should meditate on the subtle bindu. At the four tips of the nose, one should contemplate the respective letters. This is the subtle basis. From the complete transformation of these, what becomes equality is said to be the bindu. Whatever is subtle about that, is called Nada. Having opened the star window of the mind, let the mind look at the mind. It becomes the nature-dharma channel and the wisdom channel, the self-nature channel and the quality channel. By what is it fully known, the subtle bindu Nada drips. Thus it is said. The complete collection of all the body, speech, mind, and wisdom of all the Tathagatas, from the Sutra of the Buddha Knots, the thirteenth chapter, which teaches the basic samadhi and the subtle bindu. Then, that great Vajrakilaya, abiding in the samadhi called equality, again specifically speaks this verse: Peaceful dharma without acceptance or rejection, is the dharma without self-nature, it is taught to be difficult to fathom. Separated from the terms of expression, it is the nature of the unconditioned, appearing in the realm of no birth and death. The three times are unconditioned, it is the land of all-pervading light. There is no example of this, and I have not been able to see it, not abiding in the present but pervading everywhere. Because of the arising of the two forms, it becomes an inexhaustible treasure. The nature of all dharmas is not different from emptiness. Samsara and Nirvana, the two, have no distinction or difference. The difference between them, it has not been said that there is anything. Aggregates, elements, and sources, are merely interdependent arising. Without realizing from emptiness, all expressions are terms. Therefore, in the emptiness of all dharmas, fools do not see it. Therefore, all dharmas have no self-nature, the Tathagatas do not see them. Dharmas are like the Sugatas, not found by searching, by truly

Cannot be seen, because no one sees it, that itself is the great seeing. Nirvana is Buddha. Who cannot see, with the wisdom of the lotus-holder, in a single instant manifests enlightenment. All dharmas are one thing, although there are many different aspects, the ignorant ones wrongly see. Sentient beings are like being caught in a net of delusion. Whoever realizes what, in the mind, the five elements are also the Bhagavan. Abiding in oneness, therefore is the Bhagavan. Existing in all, therefore is the Bhagavan. Because it is the cause of all Buddhas, samsara arises spontaneously, maturing from others. Therefore, all sentient beings are said to have Buddha-nature. Sentient beings of ignorance, will experience the suffering of samsara. The nature of all sentient beings, is the nature of the Dharmadhatu, is the sky that pervades all. Because not seeing it, therefore not seeing it. For the meaning of the essential Dharma, speculators cannot find it, no one can find it by searching. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Buddha Knot, which is the collection of all the body, speech, mind, and wisdom of all the Tathagatas, the fourteenth chapter, the chapter on seeing the nature, is completed. Then, the Tathagata Vajrakilaya, with wide eyes, looked at the retinue and spoke these words: For you, for the future yogis, for liberating sentient beings, for the past, future, and present Buddhas to hold the Buddha lineage, you should correctly hear this first examination. Do it for those who have faith. For beings who like offerings, for those with great desire, do the explanation for the empowerment that is properly explained. Thus it was said. Then, the retinue rejoiced and rejoiced at what the teacher said, offering flowers with five kinds of jewels and so on, with one voice and one tone, circumambulating hundreds of thousands of times, and the gods prostrated, praying: Alas! Alas! Buddha Bhagavan. Buddha great compassion jewel. For the sake of sentient beings' love. Proclaim this first examination. Great stream of great compassion. Proclaim teaching great compassionate one. We shall hold it. For the benefit of beings.

He prayed, "Grant empowerment to beings. In villages, cities, and towns, I will circumambulate daily." Having thus prayed, the Bhagavan gazed intently at the retinue, and without saying anything, he slept thus, becoming invisible. Then the retinue also looked at each other, becoming invisible. This is the fifteenth chapter, the chapter on holding and entrusting, from the Tantra of the Buddha Knot, which is the collection of all the body, speech, mind, and wisdom of all the Tathagatas. The first chapter is complete. Translated and finalized by the Indian Abbot Jñana-garbha and the Tibetan monk Vairocana.
