The Tantra of the Great Ambrosia, the Blazing Wheel In Sanskrit: Maha Amrita Chakra Jwala Tantra Nama In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Great Ambrosia, the Blazing Wheel Homage to the Bhagavan, the glorious Samantabhadra! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan, the great and glorious Samantabhadra, the great sovereign of all Buddhas of the three times, in the great expanse of the pure realm of Dharma, in the place called Unmanifested Akanishta, thus, the great masters of yoga of the three times of the ten bhumis, and the essence of the nine constituents of the body, the great ambrosia, the meaning of being primordially enlightened, without separation, without otherness, without difference, were abiding. Then, Vajragarbha arose from his own seat, and with the gait of a lion, approached the Bhagavan, the glorious Samantabhadra, and with the gaze of an elephant king, beheld the face of the great universal father of all Buddhas, Also knowing that all dharmas are of the nature of space, and that various memories appear like clouds in the sky, for the sake of the arising of the unborn and unceasing nature of Dharma, for the sake of explaining the meaning of the great ambrosia that transcends the mind of discrimination, thus he requested: "Emaho! Dharmakaya, whose nature is like space, Samsara is obscured by clouds, The winds of mind arise with thoughts of memory, From the jewel of the Guru's heart, The lamp of non-thought arises, The meaning of the unborn nature of Dharma, The great ambrosia, the Dharmakaya, Transcending the mind of discrimination, For the sake of taming sentient beings with bad karma, The masters of yoga of Akanishta, And the pure sages who have attained the bhumis, And for the sake of future followers, Please turn the wheel of the sacred Dharma of practicing ambrosia!" Thus he earnestly requested. Then, the Bhagavan, the great and glorious Samantabhadra, opened from the intention of the immaculate Dharmakaya, with a body like a wish-fulfilling jewel, blazing with light, he gazed upon the entire assembly of the retinue, And spoke thus: "In the three realms of samsara, there is the great poison of suffering, Nirvana is the medicine of ambrosia."

Homage! The ultimate Samantabhadra, indivisible, spontaneously accomplished Dharma, All six types of sentient beings inherently possess it, The supreme Dharma of the great nectar of the body and elements, More secret than secrets, extremely secret. This profound and wondrous Dharma practice, On the eight consciousnesses of memory, conceptual thought, and mind itself, By mixing the unconscious body and elements with nectar medicine, The nectar of the deity's form does not arise. Transcending the mind of attachment and cyclic existence, It is the basis of all supreme and common practices. This wondrous nectar Dharma wheel, May you all in the assembly turn it well. With the vehicle of faith, the Vajra Lama in union, With diligence as the whip, swiftly seek the medicines, With the sharp eyes of wisdom, see the instructions. The yogi who possesses karma and fortune, To the heroes, heroines, brothers, and sisters, For the sake of future generations, explain and listen well. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Great Nectar Blazing Wheel, the first chapter, which is the basis of discussion and the initiation of discussion. Then, the Bhagavan spoke of this perfectly complete basis for practice: Outer, inner, secret, and, The great secret, the most secret, only that. Since it is the basis of all practices, The teacher, retinue, place, time, and substances for practice. The teacher is the holder of the Dharma treasury, Thoroughly knows the tantras, transmissions, and instructions, Is skilled in all vehicles of cause and effect, Arising manifestly and through ear-whispered transmission, Cherishing in the heart and concealing within, The profound and vast intentions, The Dharma that is without remainder or omission, Fully knows the greatly expanded vehicle. Possessing a retinue with common and special qualities, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Bodhicitta. Not abandoning the five desirable qualities, and, Kriya, Apa Yoga, and, Nectar asceticism is to be abandoned. Royal lineage, artisans, and, Like lotus and sandalwood, Abiding like bees and poisonous snakes, Practicing with great faith. Loving like a mother, compassionate like a sister, Caring like a mistress, working like a servant, Also possessing dharani mothers, As such, it is well said to be the excellence of the retinue, Abiding in the ranks of Vajradhara. First, seeking the place for practice, The place for practicing the sacred nectar, A pure and secluded hermitage, A charnel ground, a place for mothers and dakinis, A forest of medicinal herbs guarded by medicine, A place inhabited by wrathful deities and rakshasas, On the bank of a river or in a cave, Extremely
