Then, the lord of secrets, Vajrapani, requested the Bhagavan, saying: By clinging to the realization of self-grasping, one deviates from the path of correct certainty. Without understanding the meaning of the secret, one openly uses the hidden secret. With the seed of intense ripening, one takes the body of worldly arrogance. The eight classes of spirits, the eighteen great demons, and so forth, harm and injure all sentient beings. In order to liberate these with compassion, and in order to spread the Buddha's teachings, in order to impose control and vows, and the cycles of beneficial and harmful actions, please, great hero, explain. After this request, the Bhagavan, the glorious great Vajradhara, appeared to be silent, and in order to subdue those arrogant ones, from body, speech, and mind, he extracted these wheels of the fundamental letters of the secret mantra.
