The Tantra of the Three-Faced Yaksha. In Sanskrit: Yaksha Dra Sa Tri Ma Ra A-ti Tantra. In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Three-Faced Yaksha. Homage to the Bhagavan Manjushri, the Slayer of Yama! Thus have I heard. Once, in the past, at the foot of the Bodhi tree, in a place of great joy, the Bhagavan was absorbed in the immovable samadhi. At that time, Mara and Devadatta engaged in the practices of heretical, wrong views. From the rays of light from the Bhagavan's heart, in the center of the charnel ground where the red and black peaks of the southern mountain coiled, in the place of the charnel ground mother and in the realm of Yama, there dwelled a black Yama. He remained in a samadhi that blazed with intense wrath. Urged on by the light of the samadhi, he emitted rays of light from his eyes and emanated a manifestation from his heart, causing Mara and Devadatta to be greatly frightened. There, the venerable Shariputra, Kashyapa, Kaundinya, and others, urged the Brahmin who had passed beyond sorrow. That Brahmin entreated the king of death, Black Yama, saying: O Bhagavan! The wicked Devadatta, having entered into the heretical views of the nature of the five poisons, is harming the teachings of the Buddha. The Bhagavan does not waver from the state of great compassion, and the retinue, being of the nature of the eight classes, cannot be subdued by the practice of compassion. Please perform the practice of subduing this terrifying one. Having entreated thus, the great Lord of Death entered into the blazing, terrifying samadhi. He emitted black rays of light from his heart and unleashed a fierce, terrifying thunderbolt, causing Mara, Devadatta, and their attendants to tremble, be frightened, and faint. Then, the Bhagavan made a sign of great joy, and the venerable Shariputra, the venerable Kashyapa, Kaundinya, and others also rejoiced. Then, the Bhagavan praised Manjushri, the Black Lord of Death, with this praise: Well done, well done, you are well done! Bhagavan Manjushri, you are well done! Black Yama, you are well done! Bhairava Sattva (भैरवसत्त्व,bhairava sattva, terrifying being) you are well done! Having praised thus, for the yogis of later times,
